Im using a mac and i thought id be a clever bastard and make a fade in-fade out avatar using photo shop and image ready, but, and there is a but, i cant get the file size below 110k, even though my mate did the same thing with his PC using my pics and got 66k
Any ideas why? Id have thought that us Mac users would have had a better outcome wiith the Adobe software.
Where am i going wrong?
Has the avatar challenge finished yet? confused
Drop as many frames as you can bear, and cut it down to as small a pallette as you can, should do the trick!
Make sure backgrounds of "similar" frames are transparent and cut down the number of colours.

I HATEAdobe with a passion and stick with Paintshop. When ever I even open Adobe, its guaranteed you will hear me utter something along the lines of 'whooooo, shit............STOP, whoooo, what the hell just happened!'

When Reese comes back from losing at quiz, I'll get him to PM you. As we are Mac users and he is a whizz at the old avatars, I am sure he'll be able to help.
And yes, ther avatar challenge has finished. It never really started, TBH. Still, we all like a laugh, so carry on.

Yes I have to agree with you . I have both sets of software but I much prefer Paintshop.

Oh Thank God, I thought it was just me!
Judy says that "some people swear by them".
I swear at them,when I fix them.
On the whole they are great mahines, I would not use anything else on a day to day basis.
Then again I am very bias.

Indeed. I downgraded to a Mac in the early '00s, and now would have nothing else. And, for those who think they're too expensive, you can now get a quite capable Mac system for £339-. *just doing my part as a certified Mac evangelist*
~Reese! surprised
P.S. to BradfordCpl: I think Vix has already PM'd you, but if you'd like me to take a look at your avatar, just send the .psd file to the e-mail address in our ad.
Bah, Photoshop and PSP are naf. GiMP forever!

How an you say a thing like that.
However you look at it, the only way is up when mas are involved.
Sorry about that, my C's are missing again.
I must take more time to check my spelling.

Was on a 16 processor SGI Origin 2000 with a Convex C1xp as a "coprocessor". To be honest, my dual-G5 Mac blows away the Convex in terms of GFLOPS!

They invented a new card for Billy boy, the Ununoctium card.
I had to turn down a job as a leaflet and advertising coordinator for a large company because I didn`t know how to use Adobe. redface
Most important sounding job I`d ever been offered! Gutted evil

You're right, of course. I had the GiMP on my old SGI machines and loved it. Should really find a copy for the Mac, since they're all UNIX-based now.
