I think this has been done bfore, I've searched, but cant find it, so here goes -
When you log into the Cafe, whose postings do you make a point of looking at?
It might be because you like them, they make you laugh/angry, whatever, but you will go out of your way to see what they have got to say.
You cant have more than 3!
Heres mine (after much deliberation, in no particular order)
Debbiewebs..........funny
Sgt Bilko................funny
Davej.....................funny
Ok, so I look for funny!
I'm shallow, what about the rest of you?

Thanks!
However, I do realise that is so that you can feel there is always someone worse off than you, and gives you a feeling of "it cant be all that bad" wink

Oh no - however bad we may feel, Mr DaveJ can come up with something a lot worse!

I dont look for any specific poster but I do look out for post's that will interest me and encourage me to repond.

I look for my own, or those that I can find to see what others have replied with, if at all. Otherwise I only go by thread title if it seems relevant, or if i'm just bored.

I am more influenced by thread title than by author. If the thread starter can't be bothered to give me some sort of clue as to what the thread's about, then I can't be bothered to go and find out. My reasoning is that if it were interesting, the author wouldn't need to arouse my curiosity to get me in there. My reaction to thread titles like "You MUST read this" is Oh, do you bloody think so? Tell me what it's about and I will be the judge of whether I need to read it, thank you very much.

Oh I always look for these peoples'
Tune Essence

But there again popularity contests are dodgy affairs on a forum like this, I think. My apologies to anyone I've left off the list smile

There was a time I did look out for MrFC's posts (when he had the really nice bum avatar) nothing to do with anything he wrote

I think the thread title is potentially more important
you know certain wordings are going to provoke multiple interesting postings and others to a lesser extent
like reading Judytv postings ,,Jags when personal opinion rather thasn modding
da69ve can be quality and pololady is also quality

I read more or less ALL the postings on the forum but then again, I am suposed to
If I was making a list of posters names I look for first then it would take too long.
Some I like for the humour, some for the sarcasm and others I love to read because they are my friends biggrin

For the most part I come in and read whatever catches my eye on the front page. There are some people who's posts I enjoy reading, some I skim over and sometimes someone will surprise me and post something totally out of (what I perceive as) character. And then there are some you can't help but read as they tag team across the board.
Think it's pretty much the same on most forums.

Much the same as Easy really, I will skip over certain posters initially, simply because I know that their style and preference of post isn't going to stimulate me, or give me something to bounce from.
There are posters that I automatically read first because I enjoy their posts, however I'm not into naming names. There are posters that I interact with more, because the styles work together and there are posters that I've never interacted with but still read all their posts cos I enjoy them.

Depends on my mood, mostly II look for funny, sometimes I like a good debate, but there are some regular posters who I always click on no matter the mood. HC always tickles me, but it'd be wrong to say it in his thread... so I aint...
but these 3 mainly, though many others too...
Vix... for being slightly off-kilter and razor sharp
Ice-Pie for brillant writing and cutting to the chase (especially with nimwits)
Rachel Lane - honesty and giving a slant on a subject you wouldn't normally see. (though not sure about the new RL+P... far too loved-up to be catty..) :inlove:

I tend to look for the title of the thread.....
Possibly 'cos I haven't been around long enough to get to know people and their style of writing as yet.
After I've opened athread that sounds interesting - I'll then read the frist few posts and see if it capture my imagination or stimulates me to want to respond..
If not I tend to skip to another one.
So the thread title is more important at my stage of membership.
And I believe given an interesting enough subject ...... a vast and varied response would give me chance to see a lot of peoples styles!
lol

Whose postings do you look for?

Anything with about 2 pages of replies - it means others have found it interesting and it is not going to take too long to read. wink

I shall probably forget some whom I mean to include, but the ones I enjoy reading most are those who can express themselves articulately, intelligently, and in good English, and make me laugh. A particular good test for me is the posts when I'm left admiring someone who has put some argument or opinion JUST the way I wanted to - or getting something spot on. I would especially include in this list Kitkat, JudyTV, Polo Lady, Tune Essence, DaveJ, Northwest-cpl, IcePie, Maia, Rainbows, Misschief, LittleGem, and Flapjackboy.
The ones I scroll straight past are the ones who use no punctuation at all, and the worst of the "vanity posters".
Mike.
