Why are there so many that waste everyones time

So many arrange and dont turn up....is it they want to but dare not or is it they just dream and dont realy intend to? Not had that many no shows but sure we have had our share....God help all of us!!!!! :twisted:

We've only had the one meet from SH and it was sucessfull si I can't really comment on the question.
I have noticed a few comments on "timewasters" around the forums and chatrooms though. The only way I could think of sorting the chaff so to speak is by having a sticky where after a succesful meet if parties consented they could just post a username. No other details than that, just the name. Nothing personal needs to be given away afterall it could just be a social drink.
I don't know if thats much of an idea, probably not.
I think profiles come into things quite alot I wouldn't be interested in a member with no profile text. The problem here is though that new members don't appear to be able to have text anymore unless they pay for full membership but they may be very genuine.
It's a toughie.

Either many people bolt once they're faced with the real prospect of meeting and having to perform, blighted by their lack of confidence and insecurity or they get their kicks and confidence from knowing that they can get people to meet them.

seriously though... a lot of it for me is now doing the legwork, and at that stage then possibly meeting, whether that is going to socials/munches, or clubs.... or talking to people a lot in chat, seeing what people write in the forums, chatting on phone, and the list goes on and on
I think the best thing I can say now is that the site does give you the tools to help yourself... if some people don't make use of some of these then maybe you should use those as points, if the way that you are using it ends up with timewasting meets, then maybe you should consider the way you use the site....
not having a go.... but it does work for some people, and instead on focusing on the negatives (timewasters) maybe it is worth asking those who have sucessful meet how they go about it in the process......
