I feel these forums have such diverse section of people from all walks in life, occupations, upbringings, views, values etc.
That I really enjoy reading and taking part in.
I believe everyone has a story to tell and to be listened to, things that would make me think.
We all have different experiences in life if shared might make others think to.
I am blessed to have had a great family life, not perfect but what is perfect.
I have had experiences in life that in a perfect world would have chosen not to of had, but i believe these shape you into the person you are today.
I am always keeping my mind open to understand others, I enjoy people who have a different opinion to me are open to talk and be able to debate, these people have something to teach me in the way they think, and also the way i think.
What is frustrating is to see a good thread that is turned into a battle ground.
I recently had what I thought was a good thread different opinions on both sides of the debate being discussed that was then locked because some were then turned to insults being hurled.
We all need to value each others opinions, that way we can all learn about others.
Why do you like about this forum?
Do others agree with me?
I love a good debate, great to read both several sides to a story and also to read about other people's experiences and maybe get some advice. I've made some really good friends on here and found a couple of regular fwb's too  We've seen some fantastic and hilarious threads, posts and comments and some have had me crying with laughter rotflmao
Lately though it's not been much fun. There's far too much back biting and bitching going on, barbed comments pointed at members in open forums instead of pm and more and more members taking a break from here because of it. I also know that sort of behaviour has resulted in close friendships being left in ruins which is such a shame for a supposedly open-minded community.
Overall, I still come here because the majority of members are amazing people......plus I like perving
I like the onion effect.
The more someone posts the more you learn about them. It's not just what they say. It's how they say it as well.
I love the way a thread starts about one thing...and quite often ends up about something completely different!....kinda like chinese whispers....
oohhh that reminds me....whate everyones fave chinese food :giggle:
just kidding lol
special chow mein and sweet and sour chicken balls yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm rotflmao :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Yes I am guilty of taking part in one of those Minxy. Not proud of it if honest but when you have two different people with totally opposing views, they will clash. In a perfect world we would all be nice and respect peoples opinions but...We do not live in that perfect world.
Saying that I do enjoy the banter in here and some of the people have great ideas and viewpoints, even if I do not agree with them at times.
I remember your thread minxy and yes that was unfortunate it was locked. Pm a mod and ask to re start it or start it again. I myself don't like to see that happen as surely we have a right to freedom of speach, as long as it stays within the boundaries.
The chance of a shag?

Generally, I like the fact you can be yourself because in the main most people don't really know you so you have nothing to lose but to post and be yourself (well I do anyway smile )
I like the banter, the humour, the debates and sometimes the heated debates and I like the fact that most of the time it's like sitting down with a pal and having a chat over a cuppa! wink
You will probably find this suprising coming from me, but for me, the forum (or more to the point - the Cafe) has become so PC that I dare not post here!!
As a Mod, everything I write is taken as being from a Mod, instead of being from me, so if I am trying to have a bit of fun, I receive PMs telling me that I am out of order and that I should be more responsible. rolleyes
I beleive after all the years that I have been here that you get the Cafe that you deserve, and this is it for now!! It will continue to evolve - sometimes better and sometimes worse!! confused :? :? :?

Fuck 'em. Say what you think mate. You can't please all the people all the time and so long as you don't breech the AUP then fuck 'em twice over!
can we have a specifically 'non-pc' thread then Sarge?
within the bounds of taste of course?
lp
i come to forum for the challenge, although am ashamed to say am directly responsible for many good threads being locked, but it only happen when someone goes off topic and start being personal....but about minx locked thread i can only apologise and say have learnt something new,so no further comment!

Well, no you don't!!
The AUP does not distinguish between being rude to a Mod from being rude to a member! Being rude or abusive is being rude or abusive!!
Everything you write is scrutinised by at least one Mod so your responses to me should be no different than your responses to anybody else!! lol   wink

I love the diversity of the forum biggrin however the changes in the forum from when I first started has slowed my posting.
I miss the silliness of the old forum, the tangents and hijacks that had me howling with laughter. The forum definitely still has me howling now and again but it's different.
All aspects of life move on and I don't think it's necessary a bad thing that the forum has but the community has changed significantly. We've lost some of our most prolific posters over the year whether that be down to them leaving the scene or just moving on and whilst we have gained some new "personalities" the balance of daftness has changed.
That said, SH is my preferred site of all the swinging forums, it feels more homely to me :D and I do miss it when I take a break!
I don't post nearly as much as I use to.... then again I suppose now I don't get into trouble as much as I use to either!!!! lol
I think that unless it is a thread that I am invested in so to speak then I tend not to post anymore, maybe that is the evolution of me.....
and if it is a subject that gets me riled up... or if I feel that someone has been out of order, then I think twice about posting... go away, think about it...... and by the time I think of a reply it has normally been locked!!!!!!
I don't flirt nearly as much as i use to in forum and maybe that has changed the perception of new people of me.....
i love having the opportunity to drag out my soapbox from time to time as i don't think they like it when i do it in the chatroom redface
also like the fact i get to see things from other perspectives helps in forming opinions on subjects i don't know much about
and i like the fact that it makes me smile there r some incredibly funny threads on here
and i like making new friends here peeps i wouldn't normally come across as they don't frequent the same chatrooms as me
in fact i just love it ere :inlove:
I don't post half as much as I'd like to, just don't have the time - although with now being off work for a week you may see more of me!
I love coming on the forum to read peoples opinions, and generally have a giggle.
Must admit I've got a soft spot for Mrs Bone and her posts, as generally they don't fail to make me laugh.
As for you Mrs Bouncy, we love you getting on your soapbox in chat, you wouldn't be you otherwise and we all luffs ya

quite agree cali
we really could have a good laugh with some of the departed members posts
and some of the cock ups that were posted
still hopefully the newer members will carry on tradition of making us laugh
and we can still ask advice here like we always dided
was just gonna moan some bastids nicked me quote button
then realised wasnt logged in redface
I agree too with voddy and cali, the forums are different from they way they were i used to race home on a night and switch the pc on before i did anything else to see what had happened with threads cos they moved so fast, and as has been said, people have moved on, some dont post as much as they used to, me being one of them, and new people have arrived.
the forums are a different place now for me, but that doesnt mean they arent a good place still i just need to find my posting boots again.
friends are here and theres lots of advice and experiences to be had, granted the same questions will come up over and over again as new people join the site but thats fine too, we all started here at some point and had questions to ask.
i tends to stear away from threads that have heated debate simply cos i am here to have fun and thats my personal choice, i have enough head busting in my personal life and work life to want it on here.
and theres always the 'if you dont like a thread dont read it' which is what i do.
I do understand what you are saying Sarge in feeling you cant express yourself as you as people just see the mods hat, but it shouldnt be like that.
anyway have rambled enough

You mean like this one lol
I do miss the silly posts but I do think Earthy is helping
However, like Sarge mentioned ealier, I dont feel that I am able to post what I actually want to post. Someone is always ready to jump on me and make some comment about being a mod, rather than about me being a member of the site. But I also agree that there are some fantastic new characters around here and along with some of the old charactors (sorry Sarge, didnt mean to single you out) the cafe is a good place to be.
Just wish people would lighten up and stop taking things personally all the time confused

True, and as someone up above said, we are all members of the site and just because someone is a mod or an Op, or even Admin, it should not stop any other member replying to their posts and being open in their posts. As long as the response is within the AUP (as they would reply to any other member) then it really should make no difference what so ever.
I love this forum and enjoy the banter and the chatting, but lately it is just too serious, with complaints, moans, people constantly digging at each other, or thinking every post is aimed at them. I have enough of that during work and I come on here for a bit of fun and a laugh. I do think there is a place for the sensible discussions and there have been some brilliant ones, but sometimes why can't we all just get along, be here for a bit of a laugh and stop arguing and bickering.
