why dontn people reply

why when you take time to reply to an advert dont people have the the manners to acknowledge that the email has been received would be sufficient and would take no time at all

Right, quick reply, then locking this. Women and couples get hundreds of replies to their ads and it is not always practical of their time to respond to all of them, especially those which haven't read their ad properly and understand what they have asked for.
Yes, it's good manners to reply and yes, it seems rude not to, but with several hundred blocking their inbox, they very quickly lose patience with the numpties and the good ones suffer because of it.
Put it down to experience and move on.
