Personaly im a BBQ sauce man myself.
i had to throw ours in the bin, it really did make me think there was something wrong with the food....a bit like putting green or blue food colouring into sponge mix....sounds like a great idea at the time........

It IS a great idea... Split your sponge mix into four equal parts, colour one green, one blue, one chocolate and leave the other white (maybe flavour it with vanilla) then fold them together in the tin but don't mix them too thoroughly. 20 minutes later you have a marble cake. biggrin

Marble cake in tesco is just brown and white....... yummie it is too smile

So I'm a show-off in the kitchen biggrin
Well this bottle may have to end up in the bin (much as I hate to waste food) cos I really don't think I can see it on my plate again! Maybe I'll just shove it to the back of the fridge as an emergency standby?
BBQ sauce, eh, Magik?? Only on hamburgers for me. On chips it has to be ketchup, vinegar (for chip shop chips) and mayo (proper stuff not that nasty salad cream  ).
Off to the supermarket for me then tomorrow

PROPER marble cake is just chocolate and vanilla - the recipe my mum uses is just the bees knees. Plain part is flavoured with rum too biggrin

If you have a look at either Warwick or Warwick or Warwick's avatars, you'll see that blue is a valid marble colour. :P rotflmao

AH!!! but you can't believe anything Warwick says, or even Warwick for that matter! As a loyal 'Gers' girl (despite my loyalty to the Mighty Jags) I should be supporting the use of blue - but not in food!! Marbles? Yes!
(thought Warwicks had lost their marbles anyway. Have they been ground up and used as food colouring now???)
Jags, I have to ask........ why on earth did you buy the green stuff??? confused

Ah... I have a habit of buying and keeping 'novelty' food items (like the Heinz Star Wars Pasta Shapes) but then NEEDED ketchup and only had this bottle of green stuff. Bang goes the antique roadshow of 2525!

must be a scottish thing angel chat. they have funny food up there yer know! square sausages and beef ham and stuff! beef ham i hear you cry, what's that then? well it's ham, made out of beef! i know i know it makes little sense, but there it is.
jags, green ketchup can hardly be anywhere near as wrong as putting mayo on chips now can it? is that a girlie thing? 'orrible that is! with vinegar as well? eewwwwww!
neil x x x ;)
Bloody diabolical! Green ketchup ...................ive heard that the food police have even tried adding healthy tomatoes to it as well just to make us eat more fruit and veg . Why cant they leave traditional good food alone . Its getting so you cant get a deep fried chocolate bar anywhere these days .

I concur with Neilo on this one , mayo on chips is for girls , Americans or Belgians (and we all know how Belgians fuck up chocolate by putting too much chocolate in it).
you think green ketchup is bad...i'm peeing orange and it smells of sugarpuffs...too much belgian chocolate me thinks

Right on Neil
Beef ham is the best with supported spices of course.
Not had any for many a long year, use to have a friend that went up there often and brought some home with him.

You should be eating shredded wheat my friend.
Then all should be well with the waterworks.
smackbottom for all those who think chips and mayo is wrong!
It is sooooo good. but it has to be real mayonaise and usually a certain brand to make it completely yummy! biggrin
I have allergies to certain foods, mainly due to the chemicals they put in them during processing the food or creating it. If there is a new product on the shelf I have to read the label before buying it. Green ketchup is on the "don't touch" list. You'd be amazed how many people don't read labels until you are forced to. I'm used to it, it's something I'll have to do for the rest of my life, although certain allergies I have grown out of, others still remain.
I have bought novelty food things like your example of Star Wars pasta shapes. I have two bottles of unopened "Kylie Water" from her last tour. They did a feature on a tv programme called "Cash in the Attic". Apparently, they are worth around 30 quid a bottle!
re-lapse it's bloody lovely stuff.
whenever anyone went up to glasgow they had to bring back a boot full to go round the lot of us, enough bricks of sausage to build a small house, and a bakery's worth of scotch bread. least the sausage and bread's easy enough to get now, but beef ham! *drools* might start a little beef ham importing business with one of our scottish friends. biggrin
neil x x x ;)
Well - it's OK if mayo with chips (no, not with vinegar) is a girlie thing cos I am a girlie!!
biggrin :D
Green ketchup is back in the fridge! Pasta shapes may go onto ebay.
For now, white wine is going in me! :D
Did'nt you know that...................
GREEN is the new RED.
