Would a Disability stop you ?

Hi all,
As a single straight guy who finally managed to pluck up the courage to register yesterday I wondered what peoples views were on the following.
Is it unusual for single guys to join SH ?
I have a disability that means I don't walk very well, I have always thought that this would put people off in an environment like this, partly the reason I haven't joined in before. I work in London and live a very full and active life as well as having an active sporting interest riding horses.
I have never had that many girlfriends and I honestly think that this is due to the disability
Would the disability stop you replying to a mail ?
Would it put people off ?
Just interested in guaging people views.
I will not be offended whatever the views posted

Firstly single males arent unusual at all as youll as for disability for me personally it wouldnt mean a thing, its just another thing that makes you you! biggrin
Good Luck kiss
from a fattish bloke ,balding, and from essex sad
you think youve got problems pulling da ladies !
its down to personality first and fullmost biggrin
happy hunting mate :D
I am able-bodied, but on the other side of the coin, I would not be put off if a disabled lady contacted me whatsoever..... As Clare_Lincs says, it's what makes us who we are....
And the open-minded would accept that, I guess.

Is your personality in your legs.. confused: ......NO........well then why should it put anyone off smile

doubt it, maybe you are a little introverted due to the disability. Maybe hide behind it assuming that as you have a disability girls/women do not want to know therefore giving a false image of yourself.

no as long as it wasn't used as a sympathy card and not most peeps on here, they are a good bunch who take you as they find you, not discriminate
Finally hi and :welcome:

I personally have not got a problem with disability, in fact I have several friends I have met over the years with degrees of disability involved very actively in swinging both at Private parties and also in a club environment.
To me it is the personality of the individual that counts not whether that have one arm or leg missing. I know one guy who had horrific injuries still remain as a very very active swinger. Would I swing with him? Without a doubt he is a lovely chap it's unfortunate tho that we have lost touch.
I believe it's the person that counts - after all Disability is Natural. Anyone can join the club - it is purely the most inexclusive club going.
Steph biggrin

It is not that inclusive as I have not seen wheelchair access at swinging clubs. May be owners should give it a thought
Not at all mate . You'll find them a wonderfully diverse and accepting bunch here . I see no problem with disability in swinging myself and Silky my gorgeous woman obviously doesnt as I suffer from dibilitatiing conceit and offensiveness and she still fancies me .
It seems to me almost anyone would be accepted here barring complete fools obvious liars. Make no mistake you'll get very little prejudice from most of the members , and refreshingly you probably wont get any irritating " allowances" made either .
Welcome home
Silky n G xxx
got to say everyone that all this talk about ` personality` counting more than looks sounds great in here but we all know that thats not what its like in the real world...doubt there are too many beautiful bastards sitting alone watching on a Saturday ( well not through choice anyway)....probably a fair few ugly people with great personalities though

No, out of 20000+ members, only about 20 aren't single guys lol
As for your disability, it's won't affect your chances on here. People get to know you on here by your personality, wit and banter. They can't see your leg so it doesn't make a blind bit of difference. As for clubs, same thing really.
If your shy because of it, don't worry as everyone on here's nice, friendly and slightly bonkers.
And Welcome too, happy swinging cool
As yet, being a spa... bollox, been asked not to use that word... but as one of my main 'symptoms' is having a spastic gait, I think it's justified... so... as yet, being a spaz has had no real detrimental effect on my swinging activitiers.
Oh, apart from when fatigue kicks in and I fall asleep in the midst of an orgy. It has happened. More than once.
I can only apologise.
Hi.. welcome to the forum!
I don't feel that it would make much difference. Your personality is what counts.
biggrin
Hi Babe,
Welcome to the nut house !!!
I am not physically disabled but everyone will tell you I am mentally disabled !!!!! (blonde)

As I said, it hasn't hindered me any.
It's who you are in your head that makes you go out or stay in.
When my wheelchair becomes a constant companion, instead of the back-up it is now, I'd better get treated just the same as I do now or there'll be trouble.
Some people will be wall flowers, some will be rampantly spreading weeds. That's to do with what's in your personality, nothing else.

Hello and Welcome Woodsy !!
I was confused
So it's not you in your Avatar then?
Hi Woodsy,
I am registerd as disabled and I have found that it doesn't make one jot of difference to the people that I have met and have yet still to meet from this site.
It certainly has not stopped me from having my fair share of fun and I think I can honestly say that I have not once ever felt discriminated against or been treated any differently by any one on here because of my disability (that is so very much different from the 'real' world as I am sure you will agree rolleyes mad :x )
Let loose matey and have fun, be yourself and be proud of yourself
wink
Welcome to SH, Woodsy. wave
Your lack of confidence rather than your disability is what has most likely held you back, rather than the disability itself. Confidence is some thing you can change given time. Joining in on the forums, getting to know people and letting your personality shine are more important if you want to get the best out of this site.
Enjoy and have fun.
LC
:welcome: to the forums, I am sure you will find the majority of us have very little use for labels. Able bodied or disabled, gay or streight, transgendered, transexual, bisexual, or like me and just mad as a hatter. We are all just people here, and personality really does count more than anything else. People on the forums will judge you on your posts, wit, and charm, after all as the the song goes 'Words are all I have'...
I personally don't swing, but like so many others I find myself pulled in to the community here, held by the companionship and openess of the place. I hope you find what you are looking for here as well.
All the best
TnH
Welcome to this wonderful world. I tend to think it's the person as a whole that counts. Enjoy your stay, and get to some of the Munches on offer here, you will have a great time.
John
smile
Good luck and enjoy swinging heaven
Nope, a disability wouldn't stop me....
I'm with Tall and Hairy on this one, labels are just that.......they bear no relevance on the person themselves....
So join in and come and visit us at a Munch one day.... biggrin
Hi Woodsy and welcome to the site.
As a lot of the site is aware that I (funin) am disabled.
I am known to use a wheelchair at times.
None of this has ever stopped me from enjoying myself on here.
I also find that the peeps i do meet are the most genuine peeps here.
I feel this makes it a lot more favourable ihn the end run.
We all have issues in life but we learn to get on with life.
My advice is go ut there make friends, get to parties.
Any small minded peeps that are judgemental are not worth knowing anyway xx
its a swingers website full of open minded people , a broad church so to speak where almost anything goes . You`ll probably get positive responces to your post because your not judged on what you are but by who you are . Personally i couldnt give a shit about a disability , colour , race , religion etc . I know its a cliche but it is really all about personality. Welcome to swinging heaven and i hope you find what your looking for biggrin wink
Welcome to the club woodsy from one disabled bloke to another.
I have 2 knackered disks , a knackered knee muscle and a knackered ankle muscle so I have to use 1 sometimes 2 walking sticks. I'm also 6'2 , 50" chest , built like a brick outside toilet and 20st ... Billy Connolly comes to mind ..... FUGLY lol.
When I split from my wife almost 3 years ago I used my disability to hide behind , convinced myself that no one would be interested and when I went out I never made any attempt to get myself someone. It took me almost 2 years to get over my split from the ex and once I realised that i'd been an idiot I started chatting up all the nice looking women out there managing to end up with a couple of the best mates i've ever had ( helps that one of them is a horse riding instructor / judge and is seriously FIT rrrarrrrrr ) and a couple of one nighters too.
I'm on here to chat to people , maybe even find someone who knows , don't let your walking problems stop you from enjoying life , only 3 things are certain ... we're born , live and die and we're only able to do anything about the living bit so live each day as if it's your last becase one day you'll be right !!! lol
