I'm sure we've all experienced it, the situation where a last minute change of plan results in something unexpected happening.
In my case, a couple of days ago i two jobs to do. I had to collect a bike engine & spares, then go to a mates to fix some electrics on his bike. i duely picked up the engine & set off to his place. On route, i realised i'd left a hoover of his at home so i made a detour to collect it. Instead of removing the spares at this point, due to the weight i could not lift the engine alone, i set off again with it still in the car. As i was driving to his, a young lad pulled out of a side road as i was about ten feet from it. Having nowhere to go, i ploughed into him. Luckily i was alone in the car(a volvo estate) as the engine in the back moved forward & smashed into the dog guard which i'd left in position from the previous day. Even so, it bent the guard the proceeded to push the rear seat with my littluns child seat attached some 5" forward, good job he was'nt in it.
After the event, it got me wondering would this still have happened if i'd not made a last minute change of plans & been in that spot some 20 minutes later than i should have been?.
