Dear Niel,
Perhaps you have heard of my nationwide campaign in the cause of Tolerance and Sobriety.
Each year for the past fourteen, I have made a tour of Scotland and Northern England, visiting Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Birmingham and have now been asked to include Swinginghaven Forum and deliver a series of lectures on the "Evils Of Drinking".
On these tours I have been accompanied by Fred, whom you may know, a young man of good family and excellent background, who is a pathetic example of a life ruined by the excessive intake of Alchol and Fornication.
Fred would appear with me at these lectures and sit upon the platform wheezing, and looking at the audience through his bleary bloodshot eyes, sweating ,picking his nose, breaking wind and making obscene gestures while I would point out that he was a good example of what drinking, smoking and sex can do to a person.
Late last summer after a SH Munch, unfortunately, Fred passed away. A mutual friend of his has given me your name, and I wonder if you would care to take Freds place on my next tour.
You sound just the type of person the mission is looking for.
