I suppose this may get me into hot water, but having reported around fifty adds in the past couple of weeks for being in the wrong section, I have made an observation that has surprised me.
At first I assumed it was simply that people were miss-understanding the meanings ,of the headings, ie, women looking for men, meant women were looking at the site, for men. etc.
Then I guessed that, as most of the mistakes were by men, it was their excitment that clouded their judgment, lol or, and please don't take offence; redface
Possibly it was a lack of educational standards, but as some of the advertisers were obviously professional people, that could not be the case in every instant. confused
Therefore, I have not come up with any conclusive results, but I have noticed nearly all the advertisers have one thing in common.
They all seem to have e-mail addresses @ Perhaps this may be a pointer to something, but exactly what I'm not sure, yet rolleyes
Perhaps other memebers would care to share their thoughts on this strange phenomenon :?: It may also be of interest our moderators? wink
cheers,
Keith
Apology's to those @ who advertise correctly
It would make our day, our month, or even our year if the advertisers posted in the corret section. And we haven't got time to ruminate on the reasons why, we are too busy moving, banning, deleting and ranting about the tossers.
See other threads ad infinitum!
Beats me Keith dunno
The only theory I have is that Men see there are less ads in the 'Men seeking Women' and think, oh I'll put my ad in there  ...... Then their brain switches off rolleyes
Or maybe they get a kick of seeing their ad surrounded by women confused
Massive thanks to people that do report the ads tho - it really is a huge help.

is the worlds largest / most popular web based email provider, so its probably more likely a coincidence than anything else.
Cops
I wonder how many of these wrong section advertisers are genuine? My guess is, most of them are visitors, who advertise on the spur of the moment, and would run the proverbrial mile if cornered into doing more than mail/pic exchange. rolleyes
It would be interesting to know if anyone has met someone from a wrong section advert confused: And whether it was a sucsessful meet :?:
Any bookmakers on site who will give better than 10/1 against :?: :?:
Keith
i've reported quite a few too...
I think the problem might be due to another (popular and mostly non-sexual) website that has the exact opposite system to this one.
On that site, if you are a man seeking a woman, your wite your ad under 'women seeking men', because what you want is a woman who is seeking a man.
 mrs davej FFS ring up exchange and mart and cancel
we can run our advert on here

Obviously those advertisers can't be trusted to think laterally. And why, may I ask, were you on there confused:
Keith
I hope you are not writing anything about us, writers and journalists have caused us the odd problem in the past. Anyway while you’re spending so much of your time searching through and reporting all those adds you won’t be doing much writing eh wink .
Enjoy the site.

I wouldn't think of such a thing. Besides, I have as much material as I could wish for from my own background, without ever contemplating being indiscreet. cool
Keith

Well they won't run out of anything else, will they Daisy? wink

It's is good place to meet people. Do I need more reason than that?
Simple, require all first time adds to be submitted on slate, written with a pin, neatly... hehe
After all that effort they wont want to waste it in the wrong section smile
On a serious note could we technically lock out mutliple advertiser, give people a number of slots, once they used their say 3 they cant put up more adds until they take one down? May encourage people not to waste them (although they could cheat with multiple accounts)

A good idea as far I can see, but it's up to the administrators, and whether it might cause even more work confused:
Unfortunately, it still won't eliminate the mindless who can't read, spell or understand which section they should place their adverts in, will it :?: For those, help is beyond reach of mortal men, because it's what happens when education standards drop.
Bring back disciplin and strict learning methods, I say
Keith
Going now to keep my head down, whilst the bullets start flying.
Maybe some of the more experienced people here could be made junior mods, with no perks except the power to move adverts to another category?

Did anyone see the guy last night, advertising in the 'women seeking men' section, boasting of what he could do, and asking for names, addresses, and mobile numbers, for a once only visit, to satisfy their needs? mad
Due to the agressive nature of the add it sent a cold shiver down my spine, and I reported it. I only hope women take note of the warnings on the home page, and treat this kind of advertiser with extreem caution? :small-print:
I realise I could be wrong, but the wording seemed to hold an almost threatening connotation, and I felt it better to be safe than sorry. Appologise if the guy was genuine sad
