why should we moderate what we choose to post, so long as it is in line with AUP, such as pics from blue's parties for example, which serve a valid function in that they prove beyond doubt that this site is real and it works, simply to pander to laziness? this is an open site, it has always been an open site. it's central theme is openness, and without that openness, what is the point of it? we are adults, on an adult site. we need to act like adults sure enough, but we certainly don't need to be treated like kids?

would it not be common courtesy to inform us properly of site wide policy changes as and when they happen, so that we don't have to read the AUP in it's entirety every single time we log in before we even think about making a post? Quote by neilinleeds
ok, so the whole discussion on adult content is now academic! just wondering though why it took 3 days, 4 pages, and the odd complete feckin' rant before someone deigned to inform us of a change to the AUP, that would have left us wide open to a ban had we unwittingly breached it?
still, thanks for the clarification st3v3. think we all know exactly where the site stands now on the whole "adult content" issue don't we? nothing commercial behind it, it's purely legal reasons re: child protection! righto then, i'll take your word for it and leave it at that! ;)

once upon a time there was a dream, the man who had the dream was called king Marcus , he dreamed of giving part of his kingdom to his friends and their friends , to live in or just come and go as they pleased, so he did simple really.........
king Marcus was a generous man and loved to see his family grow and smile around him, people would come to his kingdom and stay a while then leave others would come and set up home there , it was a sight to behold , king Marcus sat back and was happy , every now and again king Marcus would see that an unruly person would pop in, get too drunk on the free wine, upsetting the utopia he had created, so king Marcus decided the land needed a government to make laws and enforce them, he asked the people there who wanted to be in his government , some said "i will" others sat back and said "no not me I'm happy as i am", the government made rules , sensible rules that stopped naughty people spoiling all the fun of the residents and new visitors to this paradise , every thing was fine .
The people would laze around soaking up the sun, play loud music if they wanted and dance , sit back and sleep on the grass, walk in the middle of the road holding hands or zoom along in large 4 wheel drives cars, no one ever complained and everyone accepted each other for what they were without question, king Marcus sat back in his palace and relaxed his work was done.
Nearby there was a country very different to king Marcus's a country where people raced around taking what they could , pushing others aside to achieve their aims , a country filled with spite , uncaring and greed, the men who ran that country saw an opportunity was to be had , they went to see king Marcus , 2we will make you an offer you cant refuse king Marcus" they said," we want to run your kingdom, we want your people to be happier , we know what will make them happier ", the king sat back , he had invested all of his time and money into this place , he needed to get something back , it was an offer he could not refuse , he toiled with this for many days but eventually gave in, "OK" he said , "run my kingdom" , as soon as they could the new men moved into his palace , they threw the old king out and sent him to live on a little island far away and told him never to return, the king was sad but what could he do?
the people of the kingdom were told what had happened they were frightened , upset ,annoyed and confused , the new emperor spoke "do not worry we will look after all your needs now , you just carry on while we make a few changes round here , all for your own good of course",
the government held talks secretly , "what do we do? we are here to serve our friends and help our king, the king has been overthrown by invaders , they've asked us to help them but they dictate new laws we don't think the people will like" , some of the government were happy , some said we will see how things go for the good of the people , other members of the governemnt feared the worst and said they wanted no part of this dictatorship and left, some of the government became unruly , they I'm afraid were treated in a way i do not wish to discuss ,
the people looked to the government for help but it did not come , those that truly cared for the people had left or been got ridden of, the others were helpless anyway , if they dared to speak up they would have been treated the same , anyway they liked the power they had and the respect it gave them.......
new laws were created , a small charge was made to use the swimming pools , a tax was placed on the drinks at the bar, people had to walk on pavements , "keep off the grass!" signs were posted everywhere , little by little the kingdom changed , new visitors came along , enticed in with promises of fun and friendship, the new people needed assurances but they looked at the kingdom and saw all the decent people there and said "we want that too", the people of the kingdom still didn't know what to do, they were offered incentives to stay the emperor said "you can have free drinks for a year and the swimming pools are free too, just for a year though then we will review things, why don't you help us settle in the new comers, embrace them for they are paying for all your freebies ", some of the people decided to give it a try , some left went to other far off lands most stayed they knew things weren't right but their fear of the unknown was far too great to leave , they had been so happy things couldn't be all that bad could they? every now and again the government spoke of new rules , little changes , sometimes people were asked to leave for odd reasons , sometimes people just disappeared, the drinks would be changed to a different brand , sometimes better, sometimes not as good , the people weren't used to this they had always had what they wanted in the kingdom of Marcus , they were watched by a new kind of police the old government were there but they had spies around the bars and on the borders, even in the locker rooms of the swimming pools, the people couldn't understand how their government had gone from protecting them to policing them almost overnight , were the government so scared of the new dictators regime or were they so caught up with the new rulers that they had forgot why they had come to power in the first place,
to serve their friends and help them grow the kingdom into the garden of Eden it had become ,
no one knew why they served the dictators so loyally or why they served them at all, these people were the sisters and brothers of the family that had been left in turmoil following the coup that had taken place, yet they helped the newcomers take over, families fell out and the love in the kingdom started to subside , as winter approached there were so many new people that the few that had helped make the kingdom great were lost within the many , they sat back and saw a change had taken place , the families had been replaced with business men in suits , the understanding and compassion had been replaced with greed and spite , queue jumping had started at the swimming pools, "Ive paid good money when do i get to swim", "I'm not waiting i want to jump right in", this became the story across the country , the few that had stood up and questioned in a reasonable manner packed their few belongings and headed for the borders , their heads held low and , sad faces and the odd tear ,the cities that once gleamed poured out smoke and left a haze on the skyline , a huge dark shadow was cast across the country but the new people had still got the tales of how great the kingdom had once been , a country that once relied on word of mouth had the power of advertising , the new wealth was spent on billboards and television campaigns to keep the tourists coming in, they needed to because as soon as they arrived and didn't find their own personal pot of gold they left, not before paying thirty pieces of silver to the emperor and his minders, the palace was falling apart, the grass was full of weeds, the water no longer pure and ....
I look back at what was once my home with a tear in my eye as i pass the border guards and secret police checks for the last time and sign out of my own persoanl heaven .....
tell my friends how i feel im just one of them, my brothers and sisters ,my government has let me down ,my king let me down, even some of my friends let me down, but for what
