we are all adults on here & we can't stop people posting threads. If I see a new thread that says for example "Wank club" I just don't even open it coz I'm not interested. This stops me from getting my back up about such threads. OPEN or LEAVE CLOSED -its your choice

I like looking at the pics people put in threads.
They are usually posted by people who I have met or chatted on the forums with, so it's like having a peek into their world or seeing what they look like.
It is an adult site and to be fair there are very few gratuitous shots or threads that support "mucky" pic posting across the forums.
As for threads being locked because the press are interested in it, it seems pointless.
If there is that great a concern then remove the threads from the Forums completely.
'Cos guess what :shock: it's still visible and if the press really wanted to, they could still quote it anyway.
The media have been interested in this site for ages now, if members choose to talk to them on their OWN behalf then it's up to them and they have to live with however they've been portrayed.
Frankly if the Sunday Sport or NOTW quote Jas I couldn't give a flying, it's not my real name and if you search there are other Jas's out there (there's even another Jas & Tim)

Does that mean that the dogging forum will be closed cos the sunday sport runs a weekly dogging location section??? The whole site locked down at weekends cos more than three publications mention the word "swinging" ??? rolleyes

Adult site with over 18 sign in agreement sorts out the minors issues, you can see worse on googles searches, so lets not get all huffy about personal prefferences regarding the boards.
Adult also implies the ability to make choices for ourselves. If its about veiwing the site while at work, why not get into admins ribs about a new site skin that is sanitised which automatically removes things anyone might take offence to (ie piccies) or quote illegally!? :?

minors accessing the site? we bear no responsibility for that whatsoever, nor should we? the responsibility lies with parents who can't be arsed sorting out their parental controls, and blocking the site with that handy little "Parents block this site now" link at the bottom of every page, leaving an insecure, unsupervised net connection available to their kids?
those who worry about the content of the site when it may be on view to colleagues at work, or to their kids at home? go to your browser preferences, and turn images off, jobs done . . . anything remotely pictorial with nekkid flesh on it is gone . . . job's a good 'un!

why should we moderate what we choose to post, so long as it is in line with AUP, such as pics from blue's parties for example, which serve a valid function in that they prove beyond doubt that this site is real and it works, simply to pander to laziness? this is an open site, it has always been an open site. it's central theme is openness, and without that openness, what is the point of it? we are adults, on an adult site. we need to act like adults sure enough, but we certainly don't need to be treated like kids?

There are ways of tailoring the computer settings to hide things people might find inappropriate without having to censor and curb everyone's choices with their preferrences too.

Well that was quite a read, three times in three days one of the TV companies rang us to put people forward for them to interview to cover the wank club topic.
By the third day they were trying to offer us money and the answer was still "NO" . So to my surprise when i see the thread a few days later I think that it has either been started by the press or that the press could be behind it or involved with it in one way or other as they could not get any help from us.
With regard to my piece on the radio that keeps getting thrown in my face, despite it being possitive for swinging and this site and its members I would like to add this.
I had the balls to go on BBC radio for over 10 minutes using my real name to fight for this site and what we believe in. It was a good possitive piece there was absolutely nothing in the content that was negative or inappropriate. We would rather deal with the press officially rather than keep getting "an official source at swinging heaven said".
With regards to forum avatars, these are rules that have been here a lot longer than us......

I have to agree with you that sometimes, it seems as though the only voices that seem to be heard are those of the owners and their sycophants.
Two of the things I find hardest to tolerate in life are sycophants and nepotism. They really can ruin friendships and relationships. That's also the biggest problem I have with the other site.

After making the post quoted above I modified the Posting Guidelines (see point 5).
The photo ads/gallery images have also been mentioned, without logging in you will only be able to view the images rated as 'non adult'.

I disagree with this amendment and would like to know why after all this time we have to curb this on an adult site because some members might be a bit squeemish.
This is not about legal issues of minors veiwing photos at all. it is about getting people to pay to see the photos previously we've had no censorship over.
So is anyone going to go through the backlog of posts and clear up the picture threads because theyre so offensive and someone may be corrupted by them? rolleyes

I cant beleive the amount of censorship going on here of late and quite frankly I'm disgusted in the lack of openess which has always been a corner stone of this site.
