XFactor has been on all of 5 minutes and has already got me in stitches. There is nowt as queer as folk!
Does it make you laugh, cry, cringe, or turn the telly over?

We think X Factor is great entertainment. I prefere the early shows seeing all the bad ones who really think they can sing.
Remember last year when that guy put a curse on him? lol
It certaunly is a great fun show.
I love this show - pure entertainment!
Spent all afternoon watching the best and worst auditions from last year lol
Ive just been wettin me knickers at the last act! rotflmao
Makes me turn over - tonight to the fab Divan Orchestra at The Proms - gorgeous!
:violin:
Sheer laughter therapy!
I love the auditions great show to watch with the children, they carry on watching the live shows I just listen in the background.
X Factor and Britain's got talent are the only two of their type that I do watch. X Factor makes me laugh have to say x

we only like the auditions for the worst people. once they are over we don't watch it any more.
whips

Ditto that
I know they're heavily "filtered," and most of the acts never see the judges- but the early auditions are always fun!
Well i think its very noble that the X Factor is doing their bit at promoting "Care in the Community".
When I see people with pure raw talent and self doubtmodesty and their talent alone gets them through the round it makes me cry...I have no idea why it just does.
Worryingly I am beginning to like Simon Cowell too confused
I think Mr-Powers and Markz should enter Xfactor as a duet

Hands up, I cried after Rachel sang. Fingers crossed for her.
I have this awful impulse to audition. I'm not known for my singing ability, but it's a bit like a fly to a bright light. I just want to do it!
Apparently I was on a quiz show repeat again 2 days ago, shan't say which one in case someone works out who I am from it lol.

aaaw bless is Markz not very tall? what about his shoe size?? smile
On the odd few occasions it's been my unfortunate mishap to see the show I filed it under "totally cringeworthy".
I can't abide humour/shows that rely on the embarrassment/put downs of others.
I'm only watching it cos there's nothing else on and Cheryl Cole is always worth an oggle ... cool

I agree to a point that it's not always nice to see someone upset, but... no one forces these people to audition, they wait for hours to get the chance. It's their choice and to be honest apart from a few misguided youngsters, who's parents have built them up for a fall, they're all old enough to take it.
The best bit is seeing the ones that stand out for me. There was one woman yesterday called Rachel. 26 with 5 kids (3 in care), very little future ahead of her, but by God could she sing. It was heart warming to listen to and to see the response of all 4 judges. It could quite literally take her out of the gutter and give her the opportunity to be proud of herself for the first time in her life.
My point is, yes some people get a little teased and scolded, but it can also make people. Can that really be a bad thing? I'm looking forward to seeing her journey and from what Simon said, I reckon she already has a contract.

I can't stand it.

No its not a bad thing at all.
The show is fun and lighthearted entertainment, and hugely people want to go on there and make fools of themselves then as adults they are entitled to do that.
I feel it is good fun tv, but the proms it is not. Like a lot of things if you don't like it, then don't watch it and then have a moan about it. Get that remote and press a button that takes you to another channel, easy that bit. lol

Nope, sorry. I just can't stand watching people made to look small or silly, and I am most certainly repelled at the notion of so-called celebrities passing judgement on people doing their best but coming off looking silly.
To me it's just a resurgence of Roman-times where the Christians were thrown to the lions. The fact that these people do it willingly actually, for me, counts against it even more. The fact that the programme makers will use the aspirations of untalented people to ridicule them just winds me up (actually winds me up to the extent I want to punch the twats).

I don't watch it, I've never seen a full show. The bits I've seen are enough for me to know it's not the sort of show I want to see.
As for moaning about it, I'm not. Just passing an on-topic observation. I see little point in moaning as the lowest-common-denominator-type TV show will carry on regardless.

Nope, don't watch any reality shows... come to think of it I don't watch any broadcast TV. It's too banal and, errr, crap by-and-large.
Having said that when at other people's houses I do find I'm sucked into animal documentaries and such like.
I'm a DVD/Blu-Ray and fantasy/fiction TV series' (AVIs downloaded from the net) person.

My reply was not directed at you about moaning, to be honest I did not even read your reply on this thread.
I wonder how people feel about the " lowest common denominator " says about them?

Why would they feel anything about it? I said the show was "lowest common denominator", not all the people watching it.

Pixar's demographic is for children, yes? I enjoy Pixar films yet I am neither in the demographic nor a child.
