*sigh*
The fresher the better of course but our lifestyle is so rushed that we cannot avoid convenience and processed foods.
This incident reminds me the paprika scandal last year. Apparently some git decided to mix the good and pure Hungarian paprika with cheap paprika from South America that had been contaminated from a poisonous weed. The result was toxic paprika circulating for a long time without anyone's knowledge (as the git never revealed what he had done and paprika got sold as genuine 100% Hungarian paprika). Needless to say the Hungarians are gutted to be unable to use their favourite spice.
Before we all rush off in an Edwina Curry type frenzy of panic , perhaps we should consider the lifelong additives involved in the last pussy we ate
Be careful mate !! Was that carrot wrapped in cling film ? It can be carcenogenic .
Was the cow registered and innoculated ?
To get back on thread (suppose someone has to), this whole thing is a flash in the pan and will have neglible effects on human health like a lot of the scare stories given out by the press.
More people have food poisoning from their nearest and dearest and suffer more serious consequences than this new problem. If you want more info then go to the Food Standards Agency website and get the info about this from there. Or you can scare yourself silly and get the info from the newspapers (same journos who say we are dirty, evil perverts). One set of people give you the facts, the others sell newspapers.

Just have to say that this warning only applies to crappy Crosse and Blackwell worcestershire sauce which is used in a lot of commercial food production.
If you have the iconic Lea and Perrins bottle in your store cupboard then feel free to drink it by the gallon.
