Last time I was out in town which was the first time for quite a while I got stopped from going into a club for not wearing shoes. Everyones in Jeans and polo shirts though and as normal girls are wearing virtually nothing. What is it about shoes that they have to be the last bastion of virtually ignored dress code. When I was out in the 90's you had to have a shirt shoes and mostly trousers although black jeans were beginning to creep in. Next club I went to I walked in in trainers, sensible really as shoes are worse for dancing in and better for kicking people with.
I say have a dress code or dont, no point fazing out everything but shoes confused My Fridays 2 pence worth.
Cheers
I once got told at a munch to put my shoes back on by the door staff!
My feet ached so I sat down instead!
Flip flops are the things for later on in the evening at a munch!!

Oh yes, emergency flats are always in my bag!
I do the school run barefoot...I drive barefoot...sail barefoot...and have even been known to shed the shoes & go shopping barefoot...oh, and there was the recent barefoot theme park queuing.
I was daft enough to go to a theme park in a steel boned corset, skirt & heels- so I can't really complain at the hurty feet I guess. redface
Mrs Tweeky often goes out in ridiculously high heels and then spends the evening barefoot. There is a lesson there but she doesnt seem to be learning it.
I have shoes on right now... recently purchased beautiful shoes. And my pjs! :giggle:

Are you breaking them in?? The shoes I mean lol
I like to walk about barefoot around the house and have been known to take me shoes off while out and enjoy the freedom...
Must about Tweeky - I can never understand the dress code for some clubs. Most of the guys I hang around with now are into sneakers/trainers and have quite a collection of them rolleyes One even wears colour coordinating hats confused :? :? Mind you - its good cos I can take the piddle
OOOH this is sooo one of my pet hates mad
I can just about cope with people being bare foot in the house, but i have a real bug bear about people outdoors in bare feet dunno
I suppose it's probaby to do with having seen to many feet cut to shreds by a vast selction of sharp objects, everything from broken glass to disguarded nails / tacks.
Add to that several years spent overseas in places where things that stung and / or bit were usually quite deadly and hid in the grass / undergrowth.
And then add the 'fight or flight' syndrome .... nooooo, couldn't be doing with bare feet, i only take me boots off begrudginly when its bed time, all other times my feet are clad and ready to run :lol2:

Wiggles toes at Pete in a devil may care manner...
Actually, I did get my comeuppance once. We'd been moored at the end of Saarfend pier for a few days, and twice a day at least I'd been running the length of the pier rather than waiting for the soooo slow tram. rolleyes
I was in costume, so wearing leather jeans etc but I drew the line at running in my 2inch heeled knee high boots. Many trips up & down the peir had been done barefoot, boots in hand, without incident.
However, on the last day I was getting taken home by car, so I ran for the train with my bags in one hand, boots in the other- and just as I stepped off the peir onto the tram/train thingy- I got two feck off lumps of Saarfend pier stuck in my foot.
One of them the OH managed to remove, but there was an 8mm sliver that necessitated a trip to minor injuries. redface
(Do you think they'd believe it was a piracy related industrial injury? No siree...)
ooh- that just reminded me. Last time the other other half came away with us, he binned his shoes halfway through the trip, and spent the next few days barefoot. The soles of his feet are like leather, but damn was the floor cold, and there was a carpet of fallen acorn shells for miles around. Led to some very silly walks lol
