How do you know which Footie team you support ?
Just think of the amount of footballers who where passionate about a team as youngsters and ended up playing for another!
What constitutes passion ?

Yeah, I've often wondered this, but at the end of the day, we can use Alan shearer as an example. When he picked his home team and childhood fave over Manchester united, a team he was almost guarenteed victory with!

Well a proper football supporter picks a team when they are old enough to be interested in the game and sticks with them for life through the good times and the bad,but I can remember at school their used to be kids changing their teams weekly and usually they would say they supported the team at the top of the First Division as it was back in the 70's.

Do you belive that something can come along drastic enough to change that supportership, even in a true fan?
Using the whole fiasco as an example!

I support Liverppol but I am an English/British man first and fore most. Therefore I was able to support Man utd in the euro cup final against Bayern and I am able to support Scotland or Wales in World cup games especialy on the years England didnt get there rolleyes I often find this doen not occur a lot in other footy fans but I will still cheer any UK team on against the big european players.

Ohhh good some one can explain the football atraction to me please biggrin
No offence but I just don't get it, I can only asume it's something that you pick up off a family member at a young age, as in they start taking you to matches and you pick up the passion that way.
As my dad never took me to a match  I was a deprived child and had to settle for motor bikes from an early age and my dads budding ambition to turn me in to the next Joey Dunlop smile

I do attend the odd match but not very often, I used to go watch my dad play football when I was a kid. Its an atmosphere thing even if you are watching it on the box or in the pub or at the stadium. Obvously the atmosphere intensifys depending on the amount of people or the seriousness of the match. When you watch a good match the feeling experienced is unlike any other I get life I cant think of another time or place in life where that exact set of extreme emotions can be felt. Therefore I always fel a little sorry for the people who dont get it as I fell they are missing out on something. I guess they feel thats kinda funny lol
