What has been your worst job ever. I have done a few. estate agent being one....the lies kept me awake at night. But the worst was in a fish and chip shop. I couldn't even wrap the chips in paper right, it was humiliatingly.
Having to listen to Derek & Clive?
Try I worked in a small factory (3 of us) where they powder coated coat hooks, My job was to place the hooks onto a moving conveyor. These were the hooks you find in School changing rooms or Leisure centres all the same shape size and 5 different colours. The factory had advance orders for at least six months work of coat hooks so say. I gave it one and a half days.
The other worst job was working for a known glossy car magazine selling advertising space. That was soul destroying.
It doesn't sound too bad but my worst job was in the YKK zip factory in Runcorn.
In the morning I washed a sample of zips in a washing machine to check if the paint on the pullers came off. In the afternoon I did a simple chemical analysis of the zinc-plating solutions to make sure they were strong enough. If they weren't I got to dump a bag or two of plating salts in. That was it. 30 mins morning and afternoon.
Like I said - doesn't sound too bad. But I had no-where to hide, nothing else to do and sat in direct sight of my boss. I was BORED - so BORED - every flaming day.
It was that bad I was thrilled when we had to do a stock-take.
I lasted a year - and that was only cos it took 7 months to find a job in a place I could afford a house.
Working for a dodgy telesales company that sold advertising space in charity "publications".
I lasted two and a half days... by which time I had pretty much sussed that the publications were non-existent!
I worked in a slaughter house, great money but shit job.
I was a supervisor for a 100 women who worked from home... I loved meeting them and the getting out and about everyday, had a great driver and mate
The part I hated was that these women filled envelopes and it had to be done properly in a certain order, if it wasn't done as the client wanted it cost thousands to be done and these women had to open them all up and start again ... for a pittance!
I have a lot more respect for my junk mail now I can tell you! These women (and a few men) earn little money for the long hours they work...it takes over their lives as they need the money so badly.
I'm a bit indecisicive between working in a butchers as a saturday job while at school or working for betterware. Both were utterly crap pay.
I think I'd probably go for Betterware, delivering the catalogues. All u earned was 17% (I think) commission. Got paid weekly, cash in hand, but one week I earned a lousy £7. Just aswell I was a teenager living with my mam at the time. Also, the shit u get from some ppl who don't want the catalogue. It did my head in when ppl would winge at me saying they don't want the catalogue but the boss never kept a list from the previous deliverer who didn't want catalogues.
I used to keep a list and gave her it when I left it, just wished I was aware when i started, who wanted a catalogue and who didn't.
Miss cream xxx
knob twiddler in a factory walked out before pay day
not the job but the people .....all rascist sexist homophobic B.N.P. supporting idiots who thought, because i had a stupid 'tache and didn't instantly proclaim my urge to shag any woman in the area, that i was gay.......oh it was fun
My worst was working for phones 4 u having to tell people total bullshit every day and selling phones contract phones using a bulling really got me down.
