In the early seventies. When my mum found out that I was bunking off school (she's very pro education).
When was the first time you won a prize, competition or bet?

Firstly if you "smash" the BNP someone else will be along to take their place immediately.
Okay, I was very vociferous in that statement about smashing them. Smashing as in breaking into fragments. Castrate to not encourage such fragments to bind into an united force. What I meant the should be disenfrancised (smashed) and not be allowed to fester (castrated). I mean to the extent that they shouldn't be the gropwing force that they are now.

We don't like them but hundreds of thousands of people do, martyr them in any way whatsoever and we will have to reap what we sow as what they are replaced with becomes bigger and worse (or in their eyes stronger and better). Remember the old saying, better the devil you know.
 Don't these people doing direct action towards him realise that? The egg and flower throwing (where's he not retaliating) is grounds to make him a martyr. Hence, a propellant for him to moot his covertly racist agenda.

Secondly the host and co panelists had an opportunity to properly debate Griffin yesterday and totally outwit him, and they did outwit him to an extent . However the debate was a sham, questions were shouted and answers demanded, yet the man was never given the opportunity to finish answering without constantly being very loudly interrupted, indeed he was shouted down every time he opened his mouth. Apparently there was some BNP supporters in the audience, I noticed that on the few occasions where he was applauded other members of that audience were looking around to see who was doing it, so not surprisingly they kept stum for most of the time probably because of all the people waiting outside.
It could have have better conducted.

Griffin did appear inept, but I have seen him handle pressure by TV journalists and the like before, this of course was something completely different. Having to sneak in while over five hundred hostile demonstrators fought with the police to try and stop him only to be subjected to what could be described as a verbal public lynching must have been extremely nerve wracking.
I felt he exposed himself

I don't like Griffin
Nor do I.

even if he ( as he says ) isn't a racist or Nazi
Yeah, just like if Hitler was the Mayor of London he would support and participate in The Notting Carnival. As far I'm concerned he is still an NF skinhead who has "sanitised" in order to win votes.

He is still a smug self important twat. Just trying to a fuher.
Personally I wish I hadn't wasted my time watching it.

I found it entertaining. Sad for a programming that meant to one of serious topical debate. rotflmao

I watched the " circus " and the audience was obviously very well hand picked.
Point taken! I wonder what would have happended if some their supporters made up part of the audience? What difference would it have made to the programme?

Griffin looked very nervous up there, and his comment about the KKK being not violent seemed an odd thing to say.
That was laughable coming from someone with an Oxbridge background. What I found funnier was an anglicised Afro-American woman (Bonnie Greer) was sitting on panel. And she was on the immediate left of him! Who was most knowledgable on racism in America. If you noticed her physiology ("what the hell is this guy talking about?"). Had he looked into US history he wouldn't have come out something like that! Maybe he read the books that Bonnie had recomended to him.

He obviously was backtracking on many issues and like most politicians skirted around the questions many times.
He is a leader of a political party and his mission is to win votes for "his" party. Just like a football team's one is score goals to win matches. Similarily a salesperson is to aquire sales.

I do not think he did himself any favours at all by appearing on Question time, and for me the programme did not show me anything I did not already know.
I watched it to see (out of curiousity) to how will handle the questions posed on him. biggrin

Jack Straw came across as a bit of a muppet ( no suprise there then ), and his inability at first not to answer the most fundamental question, was typical of this Government.
The question was an easy one " are the Labour party and it's policies on immigration, the reason for the BNP's success ". He skirted around that until the host made him answer.
Most people in this country have no problem with " controlled " immigration, it is the open door policy that people are worried about. Like the figures the Government spoke about when the Eastern European countries joined the EEC. Those figures of coming to the UK are laughable, it was in fact close to and that is the legal ones. How many illegal immigrants are here that haver sneaked in?
Straw could have said "Yes, we did underestimate the numbers of people coming into the UK. And the error in policy caused people in Britian people concern. Through this complacency why people turned to the BNP. <said something what the party would do about immigration and the economy>. You see I felt he put on the spot. After what he said about the wars, East Lancashire and France (he came across a passionate about it). Bear it in mind that there's an election sixish months way (forecast date 6th May 2010). And the party is not doing well in the polls. He had to be careful what to say. An erroneous comment would be tantamont to openly handing the (Labour's) arsenal to Cameron.

There was a black guy in the audience and the Muslim lady (Sayeeda Warsi)who both said it had to be controlled, yet I did not hear them being branded racist for saying so.
It happened that Baroness saved Straw from further embarassment

People realise that immigration is good for the UK, just not the ammount we have taken in. You cannot possibly sustain another ten million people coming in. The country is skint, it is struggling to cope now with vital services at breaking point. It was said last night on the programme, quite openly.
That is what I have said for ages, that it is not just white people who have said this, many people from an ethnic background are saying it as well.
The Tories have said they will limit the numbers and a points system will be introduced if they come into power. It should.
Because the biggest problem we face with the BNP is the immigration one. If that is taken away from them, they will resort back to the tiny little party they were three years ago. But with immigration being a huge issue amongst a lot of British people, to ignore the numbers coming in, will only make the BNP stronger and bigger, and forget about nobody out there admitting they are members of the BNP through fear, they will just put their x's on the ballot paper next year, and it could happen that Griffin could be turning up as an MP. Do people really want that to happen?
If not then immigration has to be controlled, for the long term benefit of all of us. And that is NOT racist to say, for even last night that is what was said.
Griffin is a muppet but....a very dangerous muppet. Ignore the reasons for his rise, at all our perils. The very future of the UK is at stake here, and sadly people do not realise how serious a thing that could be.
That's what Griffin and co is playing on. I think a lot of the voters aren't "intentionally" however voting for them either a incidiously racist or an imbecile. As you said kenty a lot of people don't realise what they are really about. The onus is all the three mainstreams to expose them. And address their concerns. The already have to MEPs. If this not abated, they have an MP (then MPs), controlling councils and then when where it lead to. What is needed is to smash and castrate the BNP! evil
March 2006 I had proposition that infuriated me.
When was the last time you've been to watch a film at pictures?
