I think it depends on what you look like. Some men suit long hair (as long as the hair is long all over and not short on top and sides.....eww) and others suit short hair.
My husband had long hair for years and I never particularly liked it but when he had it cut he looked fab. On the other side of that, one of our friends had short hair and has grown it longer and he looks great now.
