hmmm.........mine started the day after christmas and keep asking all the time - I have just said yes, yes, yes to everything - I know they will have forgotten by Christmas and they will love what they get anyway!

Yep.......I have it and have had for 4 years. It does get easier to live with as you get used to it - depending on the volume it is that day.
What I was told, and it does help, is to listen to something constantly, like having a radio on low in the background when going to bed, having the tv in the background when sitting about.
It is a real pain at times though and can drive you crazy.

Well done so far with the drink. I do think however that giving smoking and drinking up at the same time will be very hard for you. Perhaps you should get a few months behind you drink free before you consider quitting smoking and go along to your GP and join a smoking cessation clinic which will give you nicotine patches at prescription prices to help you get started.
My husband gave up both at the same time and unfortuately, although he did really well for a few months, he just couldn't keep it up and decided to try giving up the drinking on its own first - which was a success.
