Ahhh, the eternal debate in my life.....Get up for breakfast or just another 10 minutes in bed.

As a thought, I'd guess most people will be out at Christmas bashes across the weekends of December - at lot of the works do's are around then. Personal preference would be the early Dec date, or to go for something after New Year (and maybe another one at valentines? :twisted: )
Like I said...just a thought!

Can I ask a small favour? PM me when it's on LMU - I'm bloody hopeless with remembering some things, and if I (hopefully) start this new job in a couple of weeks time, I'll be even worse!

I would guess a Christmas or New Years theme would be most suitable, but either mid-late Dec, or early to mid Jan as a guide?
Don't mind really, just so long as everyone can make it.

Thanks Froggy, but I, like DarkFire, had more of a social gathering in mind to begin with.
Looks like I might have a new job on the horizon (finally!) so mixed blessings really - good because I'll still be able to pay the mortgage, but bad because I wont be here in the daytimes much - (or good because I wont be terrorizing you guys by day and by night!!!).
Anyways, lets see how that goes and maybe in the New Year I can work with some of the others here to put something together.
Also not sure I'm well known enough amongst the SH group to be doing this yet....I've made some great friends, but also repect that trust is earned over a period of time.
Lets keep a loop open, and look forward to the New Year....

Thing is, I'm in Hants right now, so was thinking of picking you up on the way through Berks...you could use said techiques on the drive to Notts, picking up Pepper and then we'd get ourselves over to Dark's for a good session....

Advice for the "non photogenics"!!! - If you can get your head around a few of the pointers here, you're pics will look loads better!
OK, first things first....think about what's behind you - see so many backgrounds of washing machines or cluttered wardrobes - it's not sexy! Try to find a nice neutral backdrop so the attention's on you, not the background.
Next is the lighting - most people will assume the flash on the camera is good - NOT SO! It's direct light and very. very harsh. It'll bleach out any colour you have in your cheeks and will cast huge shadows on the background. If possible, use natural daylight (try posing near a big window...overcast days are best for neutral light) A bit of natural shadow will make you look more 3D - flash makes you look cardboard cut-out.
Last is down to the lens. When you're taking your own photo, you'll naturally be close to the camera, so chances are if you have a zoom camera, it'll be at it's widest setting. Trouble with that is wide lenses naturally distort perspective, so it'll push your ears back and bring your nose forward! If you can, try to set the lens at around te "70mm" setting (90 if you've got it and the space to work with). - You'll get a much nicer looking pic from that.
If anyone wants any specific advice, just gimme a shout either by PM or on here so everyone gets the benefit!

Especially love a nice soft Scottish accent - was on a BA flight to Aberdeen a few weeks ago, and the announcements were made in said tones....amazing!
Geordie worls for me too, so long as it's not too fast...Northern accent (watch me get slapped for that sweeping statement!) is nice too.
Irish is nice, but hard to find...
Welsh - yeah like that too. And west country....hell anything that isn't southern and harsh sounds good to me!
