Waded through this thread and all the other take-over threads over the last day, my head is spinning. Various members have made excellent, valid points, some others have been shocked and angered by the events.
Any points or questions i have are already raised elsewhere, so i won't repeat them, but i am left with one overriding feeling: for the first time since i joined the site on Aug 16th, i've NOT enjoyed swinging heaven. sad

Hopefully, martin, elliot and co will listen to the moderators who KNOW this community and site so much better than they do, take their thoughts and opinions on board, and EARN our respect and loyalty. Sincerely hope there's a way the site can continue the way it has been doing, alongside the new company's ideas and improvements - only time will tell.

Hi tatty, regarding calls you get that have a silence before hanging up, these could be sales/marketing calls. These companies have power diallers in their phone system that ring say, 500 people at once. They may only have 100 operators to take those calls so when they have got through to people, the other 400 calls ring off - hence silent phone calls!
If you ring the telephone preference service and register with them, it stops ALL sales calls within 28 days. Its free and you can find the number in the front of the BT book. I did this 2 years ago and haven't had a silent call since. smile

Didn't like Take That either, but robbie's gone on to be successful in his own right. He's what the music industry needs more of - an entertainer, in and out of the business. He also does an enormous amount for charity through his "give it sum" work.
My only gripe with him is that he's a Port Vale fan redface

Would a system restore to a date before you altered things help? Not techie with pc's so i'm not sure if it would help, just had mine down for 4 days and had to do a complete reload of everything. confused

Hi everyone, i'm free on wednesday and thursday and was wondering if there were any ladies/couples interested in meeting up at a club? Great news clare, congratulations on your triumph! Sounds like its been a rough few months for you both, but i'm sure this has given you both a huge lift at this time of year. Maybe your post, and devondelights, should be a lesson to those of us (me definately included) who have a good moan about our jobs and employers.

Wish i could help eager, i've got AVG as its one of the best anti virus products available but not had a problem with it so far. As a guess, could it be another anti virus program on your pc thats interfering with it? Or maybe if you try a system restore to a date before the problem started may help?

Very thought provoking thread this one.
Naughty, your comments on guys in clubs made me wonder - is it possible that a single fella, having paid Â£50-Â£100 annual membership and about Â£25 entrance fee thinks to himself " i've paid all that money, women and couples in here have only paid a fraction of that amount, so i'm gonna get what I can out of it and so long as i enjoy myself, who cares" ??? If single guys have that attitude in a club (and i'm sure lots do) it would explain why ladies are sometimes left disappointed?
Not speaking from experience by the way, i've only been to chams as part of a couple.
And i'm NOT labelling all guys as the same, just wondering if some have that attitude?

Sorry about forgetting the chatroom option guys!
I think that by using the forum though, i can get more of an idea about a persons character, personality, sense of humour, opinions on a variety of subjects etc by searching their previous replies to posts. This can't be done thru an ad, and don't think it can be done thru the 100mph chatroom?

Having seen norfolkbigirl's thread about her bad experience with a meet, i wanted to ask the regular forumers this: What in your opinion is the preferred way to meet someone off the Swinging Heaven site?
1: through the forums
2: through the photo ads system
3: a combination of the forum and the photo ads system
Personally, i had an ad on the photos section when i joined in august, but deleted it about six weeks ago, thinking i'd rather get to know people thru the forums than have blind meets.

Guys like this DEFINATELY need reporting to the site mods so they can be weeded out and banned. Firstly from a danger point of view for the females who are genuinely looking for someone to have fun with, anything could have happened to you. Secondly for the reason that, for us fellas that ARE genuine, it makes it more difficult to arrange honest meets with likeminded ladies. When i've met people, i've given them advice such as to have a close friend ring their mobile shortly after any designated meeting time, etc.
Hope you can find his deleted emails in your folder hun, if so send the details in and let the mods ban his ass to oblivion. Sorry about your bad experience. sad

Welcome to s.h. gymguy. Sorry you've had a bad experience so soon after joining, sure the moderators will sort it out for you. Don't let the low-lifes get to you dude, my advice is to forget it, rise above it, count yourself lucky you didn't actually get to meet the person. The people on the forums are a great bunch, tolerant and accepting of others, regardless of age, race, religion, size, sexuality etc. Don't let one bad experience put you off enjoying the site. smile

So many songs and so many memories. Must be hard for any of us to imagine a life without music, we all have favourites for every emotion i'm sure. My sad one has to be The Scientist by Coldplay. Its about two people, made for each other, but who can't be together for various reasons. It takes me back 3 years when i lost the true love of my life because of outside influences. :cry:
