I've been reminded of another passion of mine...finding a hairdresser I am comfortable with.
I have a fear of hairdressers, especially female ones (wonder if there is a name for that?) and once I find one, I just won't go to anyone else. Three years ago, I went 15 months without getting my hair cut because my hairdresser had packed in and I just couldn't face going into another shop. Finally, I found another one and he's just the best. The only downpoint is that he works almost 75 miles away from me. This is not so bad if I can get a lift to the hairdressers as it only takes about 90 minutes in the car but I hate the days when I have to get two buses and it's a 3 hour trip each way sad
I feel your pain, DJohn. There are some of mine which will never be replaced. It's even worse when someone special (like a dead relative) gave them to you - it's just not the same getting another copy!
Three cats, two humans, four seats....it never works in our house.
The scene in our living room tonight is this:
Ally stretched out right across the sofa, Pumpkin in one armchair, Tallulah on the other armchair, Mr BE lying on the floor watching TV and me sitting in the smallest space in the corner on the PC complete with 4 textbooks and 2 folders trying to type an essay.
Guess who rules this house??? lol
Mine are perfume, underwear, and candles. I know that last one is a bit weird but hey - I like them and have been known to spend quite a lot of money on candles which will never burn.
My other indulgence is rugby, I spend a small fortune, not only on tickets and flights/accommodation but also on merchandise redface I am now banned from buying anything remotely related to rugby after spending an obscene amount of money for a programme on ebay it was beans on toast for a month! I have a fantastic collection of programmes, all kept immaculately, and one day they will be my fortune. *Mr BE shouts from the background "if she would ever give them up"*
I can sympathise with you DJohn, I remember the panic setting in when I walked into my flat and it had been burgled. I was lucky though, being a student meant I hadn't taken my whole collection with me, only around 230 CD's had gone  It took me days to get over the horror and be able to think straight about the ones that I had actually lost.
Hello MacKilt
Welcome to the forum!! biggrin
(see- told you I wouldn't be cheeky!!)
My cats bring home all-sorts but the one that scared me the most was when I walked into my living room and there was a grey squirrel sitting on the sofa!
I've also had a rabbit, countless mice and birds and a couple of moles.
My smallest cat prefers just to bring me in rubbish like cigarette packets etc, I can cope with that very easily compared to all the living things the other two bring home.
Worst of all though, they all seem to bring their mates in. I thought cats were supposed to hate other cats??? Not my lot, they seem to think it is a non-stop cat party in my house!
So...which one of you lot is going to get me a Yorkie then?
Night Alex xxx
I have just discovered I have no chocolate. This is a tragedy
Ah, the classic advert where the little kid was bribed to climb up to the flats! I loved that one!
I think it's the law to take advantage of the blokes in here, Bunny!
Will we bother cutting up oranges for the punch? They just soak up the alcohol anyway, plus I'm too pissed to use a knife!!
*starts taking bottles out of the fridge*
Well stocked this week I see! lol

I don't like getting PMs, no sir-ree, don't like it at all, not one little bit. Not getting a PM really makes my day.
(Does reverse psychology work here, or is everyone too far to the right hand side of the bell curve? ;) )
/me sniggers.
