A cucumber?!
Erm... I'd prefer an aubergine if we were going with vegetable metaphors. I like purple and shiny!
:welcome: to the forum, btw!
And wave hey Calista!

 Nola kiss
I can't say any vegetable or fruit has ever ap-peal-ed (pun intended) to me.
Am I missing out?
Cali
I've been a member of the forum for 7 years (bloody hell!) now, haven't been active for a couple due to real life rearing its boring head and had a little giggle to myself when I started reading this thread - there isn't much that changes.
I've felt left out of the "clique", been accused of being in the "clique" and had a go at others trying to cause ripples by making comments.
The forum acts just like real life, from kids in the playground to people at work. You can never get on with everyone, not everyone is the same, and you can be better friends with some than others. Nothing is different here than in real life, laughter, sarcasm, disagreements and discussion. It's just more harsh written than spoken.
Ignore what you don't agree with, post when you do, if you are unsure about something - try asking the person in a private message.

1) health - at least to be better than it currently is.
2) wealth - enough to achieve a few dreams and clear a few debts.
3) happiness - sick and tired of lacking this lately.
biggrin
My parents did a good job but there was a huge generation gap between me and my dad and we both have tempers, when I went off the rails, those two factors were the problem.
I had some freedom as a teenager, my parents would say I had too much, I would disagree but say that I had the wrong sort of freedom.
My kids have strict no-deviation rules, however they have an awful lot more freedom than I had, but it is a lot more supervised.

Have just heard the news, so saddened and just wanted to add mine and Morbius best wishes to the crowd.
sad
Cali
I loved roller coasters with a passion until Morbius dragged me on Goliath at Six Flags California.
It's mightily high, and I'm not generally bothered by heights, and quick. I came off white and very very shaky and since then, I can't ride them any more dunno
Pity because I had really wanted to do X but not anymore sad
:bounce:
Just read this out to Morbius and even he went awww!
We've not been around for a while either but soooooooooo pleased to pop in and see this news smile

Welcome back Nola, you have been missed

And she's gone again - Nola is now one of the Last seen: Over 2 Weeks Ago brigade. Hope she's okay and that she's back soon - I'm just getting this thread ready for when she'll need it again. lol
Hope you have a few of those threads prepped Mike?

You can tell it's a long weekend and we have small children in the house!
If you have small children too then you may know what I mean, my apologies to those who will have absolutely no clue about any of this.
For a while now, I have been subjected to wall to wall Fireman Sam at weekends. A couple of things struck me:
- Almost all of the trouble in the village comes from young Norman Price. Why haven't they put a supervision order on him, or an ASBO - or simply run him out of town?
- Next, there is no sign of a Mr Price. Norman lives alone with his mum.
- Norman has vivid red hair, yet his mum is dark.
- The only other person in the village with red hair is......Fireman Sam himself. This would explain why the fire brigade are so indulgent of young Norm.
Now this conjures up the rather unpleasant image of Fireman Sam and Dilys Price! :scared:
All I can say is, he must have been very drunk and has been paying for it ever since!
Will
I do hope that there is someone else out there who knows what I'm talking about.

:giggle:
Just wait until you progress to the Wiggles ... now they are a strange bunch!

So...
it's late on a Sunday night and I'm in bed. Not had a ladywank for a while and I'm feeling rather horny. I read some porn and start to get myself in the mood for a bit of a sesh... I've my fave vibrator at the ready and I start doing the necessary. Things are getting increasingly hot and then lo, into my head pops my new boss. My new married boss. My new staid and sensible boss. confused My I've-never-thought-of-him-like-that-before boss. My mmmmm-actually-now-I-do-think-of-him-like-that-I-could-get-quite-into-this boss :rascal:
I had a lush ladywank, it has to be said. redface
Have you ever had that happen (not fantasise about my boss, of course!) when you have had an unexpected fantasy about someone? Why do you think it happens and did you go with it?
I have a meeting with him this week. :lol2: I will soooooooooooo have to try and concentrate!

ALL the time, it's going to get me into trouble one day too
The unexpected ones are always the best imho.

I have a similar dilemma every time I drive past a construction site at this time of year - there's flesh everywhere. I nearly hit the kerb earlier eyeing up a brickie. He knew that I knew that he knew I was looking and I kinda liked that... horny idea but unobtainable. I think some straight blokes just love attention, regardless of who it's from lol

You need to come round here, they're finishing the block opposite us at the moment and there are tanned muscular men everywhere! :smitten:
I'm up for that, can you pick me up on the way?

I used to update mine regularly but since uni and being self employed it's probably not been updated half as much as it used too.
I probably update my LinkedIn account, a huge amount more now though.

Tiger Eyes - Judy Blume.
Macbeth - William Shakespeare.

Ha ha Forever by Judy Blume would be on my list ;) Although now I dread my own daughter reading it.
I've read so many books I can barely remember the ones that really "get" me.
Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Graeme remains a firm favourite
And despite the nature of the book "The story of O"
Have just finished reading Macbeth ... loved and hated it at the same time.

Again thanks everyone for your love and support. It would have put huge smiles on her face to know that our friends would paint their nails for her smile
To those who have contacted me, I will reply, it's just sometimes overwhelming to start replying.
Other than that we're doing well and taking it day by day.
Cali xx

There you go. If you want to do it, then that's fine by us. She would have thought it hilarious smile

Cali, that is so special and it's so lovely to hear Carrie's positive spirit is so obviously with you all. I'm truly humbled by her strength and character in making you all think happy thoughts. I think you're amazing. kiss

She was a fabulous role-model DG smile
We have no right to feel sorry for her or ourselves when she refused to feel that way!
Cali x
Thank you everyone smile
We are all doing really well, we have our moments, but we are determined to fill our lives with laughter and our other children are coping admirably. I think we draw comfort from the fact we were given a "days to live" scenario in January and she gave us weeks with her battling spirit.
She would hate to think of people feeling sorry for her and planned everything, insisting that we wear bright colours and laugh everyday :)
She smiled every day right to the very end and refused to give in easily! Just to prove it; they all had a pamper day on Monday and she made the beauticians paint Morbius' nails bright pink (which he proudly wears to this day) :giggle: We had some funny looks shopping today.
We intend to paint at least one nail on every person at the funeral the same colour ;)
Our focus will be our other children and fundraising for the charity that have supported (and continue) to support us daily.

Both Morbius and I deliberated putting a note out as we aren't regulars here any longer, we withdrew from the "scene" a while back but we do have some wonderful memories and friends here, and some will know of our situation.
Back in 2004 our daughter was diagnosed with a rare form of leukaemia and we received such support here at the time. She relapsed in 2007 and received a bone marrow transplant but it is our sad news to say that she relapsed last month and passed away yesterday.
She was a very strong young lady and battled the disease until the very end, such courage and dignity in a 14 year old and a beautiful child who retained a smile even through the toughest days.
We want to pass on our thanks to everyone who has wished us well or supported us over the last 5½ years.
Love to you all
Calista & Morbius

So very sad.
totally does, heart rending
Very sad, {{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}} you know where we are. xxxx
Thank you all
Lovely to see Will and the delightful Sappho around.
It's our wedding anniversary today but we're apart sadly, however SH Champagne would be welcome barman.

Wind in the willows - Kenneth Graeme (could read this over and over again and there is a little place outside Youlgreave in Derbyshire that is the essence of this book)
Eric - Terry Pratchett (first Pratchett I read)
Time Traveller's Wife - Audrey Niffenegger
Turning Thirty - Mike Gayle (my childhood sweetheart/best friend and I caught up after a few years and he said this book reminded me of him and it was exactly how we were LOL)
The kindness of online friends
Horrid horrid time right now sad
Morbius graduating has put a massive smile on my face all day smile
Very well deserved and some good news at a time where we're clinging to hope and straws sad
I am so proud of him.
