Ooooooooooh hello all
I've been lurking around here for a while now but the weekday daytime cafe's a bit new to me as I'd normally be at work. Anyway I thought I'd better get off my sickbed long enough to make an introduction and say hi, and ease myself in gently as there's a very different feel to the weekday daytime cafe as opposed to the evening and nightime session, so I feel very much like a virgin in here at the moment. ops: :oops:
Far be it for me to jump in with two left feet but I do have one complaint which concerns the threads here on page 1

I'm getting sooooooooooo bored with reading the same old ones over and over :huh: :twisted:
So will you please get yer posting boots on and produce something refreshingly new, otherwise I'm going to have a relapse which may just tip me over into intensive care :shock: :shock: :shock:

After Blue's first party dundeecpl and I were in my hotel room discussing the party and having a laugh and chuckle at some of what had gone on. Later I dropped them at the station and went back to the hotel and decided to have a drink in the bar.
During the course of a conversation I was having with another guest, I mentioned that I'd been to a party the night before. All he said was "It sounded like you had a good time........(pause).......in more ways than one!"
It turned out he and his wife were staying in the next room and heard almost every word we'd spoken :shock: :shock: :shock:
That was a defining moment for me; I decided there and then there was no point in trying to behave with modesty any longer. ops: :oops: :oops:

Having lived in "deep" Spain for some years I can understand holidaymakers not knowing any better and still wanting everything British but I always felt contemptuous of the British expats who made no effort to integrate into the Spanish way of life and used to hate visiting certain parts of the Costas where they all live in their enclaves. :huh:
I know there are exceptions and I am speaking in general.
Frankly they are missing out on a great deal, did they but know it, including (arguably) the best quality of life to be had in any country in Europe. :thumbup:
I have Spanish friends in many different parts of Spain from tiny villages in remote mountain areas to some of the large cities. Spanish people are the most hospitable and upfront people I have ever had the priviledge to know, but speaking the language does make the difference.
