Are you on a PC or Mac? If you are on a PC, I think you could restore your PC from either a backup that you've done, or just select a restore point/date. I am not sure if it works to recover files though. If you like to try it Go to Start/Control Panel/System and Maintenance/Backup and Restore Centre/Use System Restore to fix problems and undo changes to Windows
Hope it helps, but again, I am not sure if it recovers files.
