The police are being right bastids around this area at the moment for this. In bult up areas I always stick to the speed limit, or barely over. On the motorway, if it's quiet, then I do tend to put my foot down. One of my old bosses was stopped for doing 135 on a dual carriageway, he pleaded that he needed a car for business (which he did) and ended up with a 3 month ban and a big fine.
From my short time here, I believe the Mods do a good job. There has been some sarcastic replies to possible newbies which, in my opinion, could be handled differently (ie delete the offending post and warn or inform the person off forum).
If a mod is sarcastic in a post, they have the ability to lock that post, preventing your public response. When you become a mod, that is all you are seen as - never again as an ordinary member - and as such you should respond in an appropriate manner. This is something that should be remembered by all.

I bid 11p on a film, starting price of 1p and someone outbid me with a couple of hours to go. So I just pushed the bid up and up to there maximum - thought I was going to have to pay nearly £8 for a film that I could buy brand new on for half that, but with all the activity, someone must have thought it a good film and outbid me. As they should be. But occassionally they have to make decisions that tick other people off.
It would be a great shame if a few of our own (not SH members) decided to take out their anger on people from other ethnic groups - that achieves nothing but creating more tension. And trouble.
I'm a member of a unrelated forum where political posts like this would be removed within minutes of being posted. They stopped them because a minority were causing offence and using an open forum - like this - to bait others. No-one likes moderators or what they do, but they have reasons.

I think this is one of the key statements so far. It's alright going to the expense of building these facilities, but if they are going to lie idle afterwards, then the whole thing is pointless. At least in Manchester the facilities are still being used (the velodrome was already there, the new stadium is now some football clubs home ground).
It will be interesting to see how it all goes, but expect a lot of fuck ups, buck passing and white elephants. And yes, you dirty minded buggers, you can interpret that statement in anyway that turns you on.
