Right as I’ve not 5 minutes to spare, I’ll have ago at explaining it ( this is off memory so if its wrong I say sorry in advance)
Step 1 – loading the chat room
To load the chat room firstly you need java, if you haven got this driver, the chat room will not load.
If you have got java you will see a message box asking you to accept, click on yes and the java chatroom interface will load.
Step 2 – choosing your nick name
Nick names must follow the following criteria
MUST
 Be in lower case
 Longer than 2 letters
MUST NOT
 Contain spaces
 Start with a symbol (eg, / * - ^ ;)
 Contain the words “boy†or “girlâ€
 Have the word “guest†at the beginning
There may be more but I cant remember them off hand.
Step 3 – registering you Nick name
Once you have chosen your required nick name click on connect, making sure you leave the password section blank.
You will see a lot of text scroll upwards, this is the chat room logging into the server. If your nickname is already register it will ask for a password, in which case you will need to think of another one (unless you are the holder of the password!)
If the password is not registered you will see the following command
*** #SwingingHeaven You need a registered nick to join that channel.
in the text box type in
type in the following into the textbox
/ns register <password> <emailadress>
Replace <password> with the one you want to use, and replace <email> with the one you want the activation code sent to.
You will get the following command saying that you have been sent an email
--NickServ-- A passcode has been sent to , please type /msg
NickServ confirm <passcode> to complete registration
If you are using or , you may need to look in the junk folder to find it. Make a note of the activation code. And type the following into the text box
/ns confirm activationcode
replace activationcode with the one from the emial address. You will get a message back saying it has been confirmed.
Step 4 – chatting
Now that you have set everything up all you need to do is read the rules, then type the following command /join #swingingheaven . Next time you log in to chat all you need to do is enter your username and password, and you should be logged in automatically
i hope this helps!

Apology accepted Jiggle. Wasn't newbie-bashing - was dodgy-bastard-bashing.
P.S. One of the reason established SH members on here relish newbie-bashing is because if a newbie isn't trained correctly they CAN turn into trolls or even worse moderators  . Which is why I fully endorse the Newbie-Mentor scheme.

..................... for pointing out to me a dodgy post. We can't be everywhere, so we do appreciate you being our eyes for us.
And Jiggle, everyone wasn't having a go at them. It was an advert which is against the AUP.
Thank you all!
