We live in an old house too.
Our house is a small terraced house which back in the early 1900's used to house the workers from the old mill. (which is now council buildings.)
In our cellar we think there is an old lady. You never see her, but you hear what can only be descirbed as 'slopping' sound, like water. The only thing we can think of is that she is doing her washing, as the cellar still has the old stone table that they used to scrub their clothes on.
We also know for definate that there are two young children who play on the stairs. We have heard laughing and crying... and heard items falling down the stairs. (and of course when you go to investigate there is nothing there.)
Dean thinks that the children sometimes come into the living room. He says that when he is sat at the pc after I have gone to bed, he sometimes thinks someone is stood behind him.
He's often started to talk to them because he thinks that i have come back downstairs.
Theyre not malicious in anyway, but I dont think they are going to take too kindly to the plans by the council to demolish the street. There wont be no buildings for them to inhabit as the road is being widened.
I hope they wont be too upset as they seem fairly friendly.
