Where is the memberlist these days? dunno

The link is still there - the Recent Posts button on the Forum page produces a new menu including the Member List - but the Member List then generates an error message.

So the question is, how far would you be prepared to travel, for a meet?? smile (this is a general question, and not personalised to us please)
Lucys post.

160 miles seems OK, but 161 ....................... wink

If you do, may I suggest you put a lock on your rabbit hutch .............

Woody Allen in a taxi with Diane Keaton in "Manhattan"
Is it just me?
Last week I was having all the problems with Error Messages that other people have mentioned. Yesterday and today I have had problems even getting onto the site. I thought it might actually have been down.

Maybe Admin might like to put a warning up about change:- somthing like this >>>>>>
.................. The current forum is extremely large! The Gen Chat forum will be significantly pruned down. So if you have posts that you consider vital to retain, bump them now ...............

This prompted me to have a look at Roger743's 2004 post "Idiot Guide to Swinging for the Single Male" - one of the funniest posts ever. For some reason it has been locked, so cannot be bumped, but here is the link:

The worst change appears to be the removal of the "distance away" information from the profiles. Even where the location is included, some of the choices that the system offers are so obscure that people who live more than a couple of miles away will not have heard of many of them. (I had never heard of Greenhill, for instance; apparently it's an area of Harrow only one mile away.) This means that you have no idea whether people are 5 or 500 miles away, which is particularly irritating in the chatrooms. Was this a deliberate change or an oversight?

I have raised this question a couple of times in this thread without an answer (as a swinging site where you have no clue who lives near you seems rather pointless). Is the plan to re-instate this feature?

Yes, its on the list, it was useful, it got missed when the profile pages were re-designed unfortunately, but it will come back, I'd love to fix everything as its spotted, but it's one thing at a time.
Excellent. Many thanks.

im not the friend, but i did see fems post in the steam room and looked at her profile, all of her face pics were public at that time.

For what it is worth my only face pic was also public untilI figured out how to delete my pics.
Maybe just maybe one day Admin will test an upgrade prior to implementing it wink
I had the same on Day 1 – a face pic appearing in my public album.

Generally, allowing for some hiccups, things seem to be settling down and working reasonably well - and there are some good improvements.

The other thing I have noticed is that the List of Members (which used to appear when you click the Recent Posts box on the Forum page) is now a dead link.

Yea it used to show the distance someone was from you (as long as they wanted you to in there settings).
It's one of the first things Diane and me look at, when we've got messages from people 140 miles away then we just ignore them

I agree. Many people choose to hide their location, but the profiles used to say how far away they are. It's all rather meaningless if you have no idea if somebody in the chatroom is 5 or 500 miles away.
Also, I was alarmed to see that one of the two photos from my private album had moved to my public album!

It's a shame I will not be able to be there, Dawn, otherwise I would offer to walk behind you all evening - reaching round to preserve your modesty with my hands.

Harry, I know that your karaoke is legendary, but I'm not sure how I added a chorus to my post. John

Mine says February 2005 but that is the date I posted on the forum for the 1st time.... not the date I joined the site.
In the old days you could go into the chatroom without having to register, so I was actually here in 2004 :rascal:
Sam xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

My join date is correct, and it was ages before I first posted on a forum.
The Five Minute period was temporarily discontinued some months ago. I was in a full room that was completely ruined by some idiot who was being deliberately obnoxious and disruptive to everyone. Each time he was kicked he was back within seconds. Presumably he was a temporary, trial member so wasn't worried about any log-term ban being awarded in the future.
I am in favour of retaining a cooling off period, but agree that it would be an improvement if it were technically possible to restict it to those who have been kicked (in which case, I would like to see it increased in duration to, say, 15 minutes - when it might act as more of a deterrent to unsolicited whisperers, etc).
