Quote by st3v3I think you missed what I was trying to say ......... basically nothing gets fixed in a flash and no matter what software is used there are gliches/breakdowns .... even bill gates will admit to flaws in programs ..... people should just be patient, its not like it dosent get sorted for weeks on end and giving people a hard time is not the way to resolve anything. I appreciate the work that goes into hosting interactive websites like this and people here do their best
In the case of BT in the early days they controlled all of the handsets of their users, after that the handsets have to be certified to certain standards, with the chatroom users we have no control over the configuration of the members PC's and how they are set up, add to that ISP's and problems happen. Whilst many use the chatroom with no issues, others have problems and we spend a lot of time trying to help solve these via support tickets on a case by case basis.
If a server goes down we always try to get it back on line as quickly as possible, the last time this happened we didn't find out until sometime after, despite having all sorts of alert services.
Not nitpicking, but even with a multinational company like for instance BT, they aim to repair faults etc within 3 working days before they will pay compensation,,,, now specicaly here, well having been a memer for a fair few years (not just on this account) then this is by far one of the better sites for the system to continue running, and in one of the replies a comment mentioned server 1 going down, have SH not recently added an additional server ..... not much hassle to set a room up on there really or is that just a waste of software??
Good on you guys for doing what you do (even if it does take a couple of days to fix the best things in life are worth waiting for !!
