I think that each case should be taken on its own merits whether single parent families or two parent families etc etc, However I feel that there is a point in which the advantages of having two working parents one of which at least is working does make a difference.
I stress again that each case should be on its own merits, although i feel that there are on average distinct disadvantages to single parent families especially those on state welfare benefits. This can show in the children and how the children perceive their future roles in life.
I wish i knew how to Google the stats from govt sources to back this up but I'm not that good at asking the right things in the right way from Google.

now you got me thinking it might be the other round, off to do some studies...

My sister and I were brought up by our dad who worked fLucking hard to give us what we wanted and needed granted he had alot of help with childcare etc from my grandparents to enable him to work which not every parent single or otherwise has, I work just as hard along with my husband to ensure we keep a roof over our kids heads.
My dads partner was a single mother of 5 kids who never worked. Three of her children have had children and think its ok to allow the state to pick up the tab for the 9 children that they have between them... They never saw their mother work for what they had so in their eyes its the norm to not work mad makes me so angry.
I think it depends on the values instilled in them that makes the difference not whether the parent was single or not!.

point taken but i do tend to think that most people work better under pressure
ran out of space....is there any truth that children brought up by single (mothers)parents through hardship and pressures of life turn up to be very hard working and ambitious than people raised by both parents...?

there wont be enough space on the thread to clarify it all but pete has mention the bits.....is this mrs kent or mr kent? wink

The space is infinite really....
Explain away old bean :-)
there is a two hours documentary about Barry George conspiracy ill try and find it then post it here...
All joking aside here but... how much has all this cost the taxpayer?
Two trials.... now acquited and compensation to boot. Must be millions of pounds of OUR money already spent, and now back to square one. dunno
over 2000 suspects interviewed on this case, the second biggest manhunt since yorkshire ripper but how much is the cost of freedom....Barry has actually served 1 year extra for a normal tarrif on life real killer is still out on the loose!

I've never read so much bollox on one thread in my entire life (with exceptions)
Barry George was totally incapable of committing murder, fact.
The assassination of Jill Dando was just that, well planned and expertly executed, with extreme prejudice, trust me, I know this stuff.
The judicial system needs to stop being scared of the real killers out there and bring them to justice, how strange that everyone seems to have forgotten the last assignment she was working on when she died and that all references to it have been pulled off the net rolleyes
as for the whole hanging debate, i don’t care how many kids / women /men / old grannies etc have died, for the state to murder an innocent person means they have murdered them in my name. Not A Chance, I'm quite happy to pay my taxes to keep them in jail just on the off chance that they might be innocent.
Or should we introduce street justice and the the tire necklace to the uk? You might want to think about your answer, it could so easily be you.

very well said, there is alot behind Gill's death that is still covered up... Barry was a scapegoat
Would you like to clarify that one? lol

Barry George walked free over the murder of TV’s Jill Dando yesterday — despite being a who stalked Princess Diana and was obsessed with blonde stars.
Quote from the Sun. My point typified .. the Sun's word is gospel to some people and as such Barry George is guilty !!

am i glad the Sun doesnt have any influence in the justice system nor is the public opinion

Phuckers, rotflmao I think the lady clutched her bag to her only cause she was trying to descretly check inside to see if she had any condoms (obviously she had been perving your pics on SH before getting into the lift with you so yes, she was stereotyping you on your appearance) wink
However, I have to say that when I am in a lift with anyone I always clutch my bag to me. Not that I think anyone would want to nick it, I just know if I dont keep it close to me, I will probably knock the person out with it lol
.....you can as the saying goes "lead a horse to water ..but can't make it drink.." - if people can't or wont take time to find the real person in someone, they are the poorer, well in most cases...
some humans are so cynical.....
jw

Not going to write anything philosophical as I think this bit above says it all. We all judge (intentionally or otherwise) and we all make stereotypical judgements of people (again, intentionally or otherwise) but only a trully decent person will take the time to get to know the real person rather than the persona they sometimes see, or think they see.

You stereotyped the woman by assuming she was clutching her bag tightly to her because you entered the lift.

am sorry i dont get your point,we seem to go on the same circle!
You stereotyped her by saying she clutched her bag tightly to her when you got in the lift. You're assuming that she would find your presence threatening in some way.
you've just answered my intial question its worst to be stereotyped for your appearance or background!
No I haven't. I made no assumptions about you and your background, or the woman and her background. You were suggesting that she would clutch her bag to her when you got in the lift. Hence you stereotyped her.
you've lost me am afraid my english is so limited to get what you are on about!

i walk into a lift and a woman clutches her bag tightly by her...am i stereotyped or judge?

Paranoid. Maybe she just changed position or something.
paranoid....excatly its not being judged
Rant over!
Paranoid? Possibly.
Stereotyped? Probably.
But for you to have noticed something that subtle, I get the impression you sort of half expected it. So to a degree you possibly stereotyped her too.
now what did you base your assuption on?
what are you
You stereotyped the woman by assuming she was clutching her bag tightly to her because you entered the lift.

Do you ever feel you are judged? Not always in the swinging world, sometimes in "normal" lifestyle?
I do. I feel a lot of people judge me for being BBW. They look at the outside and don't actually get to know the inner person.
What do u think? About you of course and what some may judge you of?
Lil x

taking OP statement i can confidently say she meant being stereotyped which is far worst than being judged..judging is compulsory in life which sometimes can be a matter of life and death.
but however bad stereotyping is its the intial group judgement before you know the person(s) properly...
a stranger will stereotype you for being BBW,black,tall,american,irish...etc but until they get to know you better then they can make an independent judgement...just like you are doing on me because by now you know am annoying waste of space..

is this the same word as stereotyped?

No. From Cambridge Online:
stereotype
a fixed idea that people have about what someone or something is like, especially an idea that is wrongjudge
to form, give or have as an opinion, or to decide about something or someone, especially after thinking carefully
am actually confused according to this discription i think being judge is a good thing compared to being stereotyped
