"Patients will be asked for details on how their doctor communicates, including how well he or she explains and listens.
The degree to which patients are involved in decisions about their treatment and whether they are treated with dignity and respect will also be taken into account."
doctors have always been assesed to ensure they've not employed some butcher to work in our wards, but the govt. lost a case in the beginning of the year to immigration tribunal against deporting new doctors from outside european union after spending years poaching them from asian and poor sub saharan in revenge they introduce tougher measures to try weed them off the country....

Its been a long time since I read something that was such utter tripe (IMHO) ....
The new measures are there to ensure Doctors are performing to standards.......Nothing more.......And if they are found to be below par in certain areas I dare say they will become elligable for training in those areas....
Where this revenge theory comes from is anyones guess dunno
call it what you wish but a doctor from india being suspended because he/she cant understand brummie, liverpool, geordie accent has nothing to do with competent doctor!

have never heard of load of twiddle today, the knuckle head government announced measures to tests doctors competence anually,a move where patients accounts of their GP will determine their future...i ask is this move really to weed out incompetent doctors or there a secret agenda behind it...

Can I ask why you think why you think it's a load of 'twiddle'?
Surely making sure a Doctor is peforming as they should be is the same as you or I having a Supervision session with ourLine Managers?People's health are paramount and I totally agree with the new proposal.
the only reason i think this is a gimmick is words in bold, letting doctors future to be determined but mere patients who might have there own agenda is wrong..doctors have always been assesed by governing bodies
a doctor spend nearly quarter of their lifes training for the proffession ,does every hour under the sun to achieve the knownledge and expertise of being a the red tape govt to turn around and ask the patient who some are merlingering wank stains who have never set foot in a classroom to determine doctors future ,some will grass their doctors for not issuing them with sick notes so they can work extra for cash in hand.
just what brains are behind this cabinet of children
where is the steamroom!

Surely it is important for a profession such as the medical one to have in place a set of checks and balances?
I don't know much about current appraisal requirements, but if anything were to improve the standard of patient care or weed out incompetence or, god forbid, prevent another Shipman case, then I think it can only be of benefit.

do you realise shipman could have passed this gimmick test with flying colours, conning over 300 elderly women to change wills is a proof of trust(breach of trust)
Yeah, I guess so.
Thing is, having worked in industries where appraisals (and performance related pay) are just a complete fact of life, I don't really have a problem with them. As long as these new yearly check ups don't add loads of extra workload on doctors and detract from their 'day jobs' then I think they're a good idea.
am just suprised this form of appraisals has not been practiced with doctors but this new move will affect their heavy workload, remember doctors are contracted to 60hours a week

and I include myself on the 'real man' list but haven't managed to get permission yet lol
Anyway, Mrs JB has gone with daughters to see Boyzone and there's no way I'd be dragged along. I saw Westlife under protest last year and even Take That. But there's just a little undercurrent mentioning it to friends - aren't they just for girls? (or those of a less than manly disposition!). Or would a real man just go anyway and be above it all?

I know this is slightly off the boy band theme but...We are going to see Barry Manilow in December. People I know are taking the mick saying it will be all females there, and no guys would go.
That might be true but whats wrong with going to a concert that is packed full of females? lol Funny I am looking forward to it. lol
is that you again mrs kent777

It's making my life a misery.
Had it since December, it used to be frequent bouts, now it's all the time.
I've been tested - twice - and that's definitely what it is, I've had all the Canestan combinations, the flucanzole tablets, acidophillus, and I'm coming to the end of a month's course of Ketocanazole(Nizoral)and I've still got it.
My doctor can't understand why I've still got it, and sometimes I feel like screaming with it.
Anyway -
my question is this - has anyone tried anything from the "alternative" range of medicines/treatments, that has worked? Not sure if we're allowed to say on here, so maybe PM me?

seroiusly is this english?

During one rather intense bout of passion in complete darkness, whilst nibbling my ex's neck she asked me to lick her face. I of course obliged and this went on for some time until completion; the light went on to reveal I had had a nosebleed and her face was smothered in blood... redface

rotflmao bloody hell, this only happened to my mate too last week,he was down on his girlfriend in the dark only to realise that she had just come on,that was him going oh baby you're so wet...oh yuck

What is the meaning of life?
I am a deep thinker and always have been!
Reading the forums in the short time I have been here has made me think in ways that I haven’t thought before, so thanks for all the people that have posted. I don’t always agree with their posts but to have the ability to think about their responses can only be good in my opinion.
This whole process of just being here and part of the forums has made me open my mind up to question a lot, one of the things I have always carefully thought about is the meaning of life!
I am happy with what I believe in and lead my life in what makes me and my family happy, so I am very content as none of us really need very much. My views are if we have love, health, food, shelter and clothing, everything else is secondary in my opinion. Not wanting anymore leads to contentment.
One of the questions about life that is puzzling me is: The word NORMAL!
What does NORMAL mean?
I have thought back to the start of civilisation and have thought about what is normal, who said anything is normal. I do believe we need a basic foundation of morals and law.
A code in which we should adhere to and conduct ourselves under the guideance of.
We should not kill.
We should not steal
We should not inflict pain onto anyone else
We should look out and help our fellow man/ woman animals etc
In other words as long as we or our families (meaning children) are not hurting anyone or anything in how we conduct ourselves or inflicting pain, or not using anyone or anything for self gain.
Shouldn’t we be able to do anything that we see as NORMAL without being judged by others?
Hope this makes sense!

it doest make perfect sense to me,Normality is not a rule but a conduct which is judged moral by a group of a society, which varies from country to country, tribe to tribe etc...
but the conduct you've mention dont kill, dont steal, dont hurt, those are rule set to protect us against each other, which also vary from country to country in some states in US first degree murder is punishable by death,so the state does the killing
BUT
there is no law in the land that commands that we should love and be kind to one another so i think its a moral coduct....but neglect is a crime according to the law of tort
pass my regards i hope she get well soon,am bored got no one to have fighting talk with...huh
