Whom else is stuck at home?
What I'd do for a sexy girl tonight!

My very thoughts!
Helen - hope you have enough time off work before Saturday to tell us all where we're supposed to turn up!
Yes, it was nice to say hello to new faces - and once again to see MikeC order all the food in the .. house!
I've just seenthe date and only have one word to add.
Bugger!
Wrong weekend for me, and I'm gutted. It would have been nice to have met a few more of you.
Oh well, never mind. There will always be a next time!

my local body piercer will make jewelry to order, and is quite reasonable price wise, so, when i get my pin, i may get him to make one up, unless it's in breach of copyright.

You would need to check with Mark on this.
I'd like to read the court report on this case!
The last one I couldn't put down was "Going Postal".
The one before that was "Monstrous Regiment".
Before that the "Night Watch".
I noticed in W H Smith yesterday that "Thud!" is out in hardback. Guess where those book tokens I got for my birthday will end up!

I wasn't wearing my specs - so that could have been the reason.
Alex x

Have you noticed when you take your specs off, your face goes all blurry?
Helen, it is now officially Tuesday, and I haven't had my PM.
What night do you want your seeing to? Is Thursday good for you?
Hm. I had to prove some calculations using quadratics last week.
They are used, I assure you, although I haven't ever dissected a bull's eye.
Helen, have you pmd the hotel ists out yet? You have pms, but I have no answers.
Are you trying to tell me something?
Do you know the worst thing with London?
All those people who don't live here, coming in for a holiday or the day, and filling it up!
If it weren't for them, it'd be a great place.
It is a busy city, certainly. People here normally travel a minimum of 60 minutes from their house to their place of work. Some are lucky and travel less, some travel more. The biggest regular commute I did was 100 minutes each way. So they don't have a lot of spare time.
You try to catch a train in the morning rush hour. If you aren't within 2 stops of the start point, you stand for your whole journey. Then home again.
Why do we do it, you might ask.
Because it is one of the most vibrant cities in the world. You can get most anything you want, most hours of the day. The food is great. The buzz is great. It is THE place to be, whatever anyone else says. London is a great place after say 9pm, when all the trippers have gone home. Visit Carlucci's, or visit one of the great museums on a late night, or take in one of nearly a hundred shows or concerts.
FemBernie and I went to see a revitalised Gogol play two weeks ago - tomorrow we are going to see one of the international premieres of a budding new playwright at the Barbican Centre. In early November I am going to the RFH to hear Michael Tilson-Thomas lecture on Tchaikovski's early works, and the following day sitting in the same seat to hear MTT and the LSO play Tchaikovski's Overture: The storm, Violin Concerto and Manfred Symphony. No doubt FemBernie and I will be taking in another comedy at one of the other theatres before the end of the year.
Yes it might be busy. Yes it might be impersonal. But I wouldn't live anywhere else.
If you say "Excuse me" because you want to pass someone that's in your way - they look at you as though you've got your head on backwards.
And when you say "Thank you" with a smile, they look at you as tough you have two heads.

That's probably because they don't understand a word you are saying. If you spoke proper English, you'd be OK. biggrin
Now I know this is basically a girlie post, but speaking as a scientist, surely (unless you were shaven down below) you should be able to see if it worked as a hair serum after a ... erm .... few applications as spillage off your toys?
Could I just add how nice it was to meet you all for the first time last night. I ended up getting away in time to get home before the busses stopped, and enjoyed my time out very much. I was, in fact, a lot more sober than I expected to be on the way out of the flat in the afternoon.
The name of the noodle bar nobody could remember last night is Wagamama - just in case anyone gives a shit!
Looking forward to the next one.
Thanks for being a wonderful Mum to us all, Bernie. I was intrigued to hear that you think I look better out of my work clothes.

Am starting to wonder if anyone is still likely to be sober by the time I get to you, I'll enjoy the catching up though. lol

Bassman - just get slaughtered on the way in!

not that I'm angling for a good spanking or anything.

When we meet for the first time on Saturday, the whistling sound you hear might be my hand on it's way to your bum!

Happy Birthday hun......
I hope it's a really great one!!

I've been told it's not bad, Helen.
Thanks to you all. Got home safely in one piece. Now need to find my bed.
Robert1961, stop misbehaving and go and stand in the corner until break!
Maybe not so early, but I would imagine that alcohol might play a part.
Any of you Essex couples fancy coming in for the afternoon?
Can't be any more embarrassing than being an England footballer right now.
I read this thread, shortly afterwards went to bed and began to read my book (FemBernie - careful!)
Two pages in, I came to this quote:
"Masturbation is cheap, clean, convenient, and free from any possibility of wrongdoing - and you don't have to go home in the cold. But it's lonely."
I just had to get out of bed and post this - synchronicity, or what?

be a gentleman dave and get the custard creams out

Personally, I like dipping shortbread biscuits in coffee - but to each their own, I suppose.
If we're meeting at 0830, should we start with a breakfast in Covent Garden?
I was expecting a more civilised start - around 1200 - leaves plenty of time to have a few and get poured home after.
Quote by fembernie

Bernie - I'm in, by the way!

Blimey Rollo - I never even realised wink
And there was I thinking you were laughing at the play!
If we have drinks up near Euston, we can pour you onto a train about 5pm - you should be able to get there in plenty of time.
Bernie - I'm in, by the way!
At risk of degenerating this post into stuff women probably don't understand, I have an ideal job for the remainder of the week and possibly Monday.
Working in a "media" company, I lift my eyes five inches above the level of my TFT monitor, swivel it 5 degrees to the left, and 15 feet away is a 42" television which, during the working hours of Thursday and Friday, and Monday if necessary, will be tuned in to channel 4 and allow me, while earning a crust, to watch EVERY BALL as England smack the Aussies.
And, Wasps beat Saracens at Twickenham Saturday with me in the audience, Bath got beat by Bristol, and Harlequins have a whole year to go in ND1.
Good start to September!
