I seem to find that I often use flirtation as a defence mechanism to hide an inner shyness.
Maybe it's because I need reassurance that I am accepted and maybe admired by the opposite sex to boost my own self esteem.
I'm often called a flirt by my partner, even though I am not actually aware that I am flirting, even whenm it comes to talking to the check-out girl at Sainsburys.
