Depending on the stranger that asks it, I usually find it's asked by a newcomer to SH who's simple trying to find out from people if the site actually works and that you can get to meet people off here etc.
Bit like asking some people fishing if they have caught anything yet? If they answer no then possibly it's a crap place to fish (or their baits not up to it?! lol
