The beginning of the end was when the government separated the Royal Mail from the Post Office ...successive governments have since then pushed further down the road to privatisation of the mail and closure of post were once a profitable business and (in the case of post offices)a crucial local service, but since a profitable publicly owned industry cannot be allowed to exist under the current political ethos they just have to go

Unless of course you happen own a large estate in Dorset .... then of course you can build a large mock tudor monstrosity with impunity

Do you have a link to prove this claim? lol
Now you know I never provide links Blue

let me guess before i even see the link.
yep just as i thought. very predictable.
Oh I very much doubt it
as an after thought i see that mr scargill is being evicted from his 1.5 million pound flat that is courtesy of the now defunked NUM. just another look at these things. :bounce:
A look at what things ?? nothing of any real relevance to this thread ...so just another pointless dig at king Arthur then ... well that's not in the least bit predictable is it

I posted in this thread not to criticise or condemn any one ,I deliberately chose as my example someone who no longer posted here

rotflmao:rotflmao::doh:
ah right so you use an example because they cannot speak up for themselves now then, as they are no longer here? how strange.:bounce: come on mr staggers we all know why you post on these forums, and your comments on here were to do exactley to critisise and ridicule.
Quote by Staggerlee_BB
that you have obviously decided I was attacking you speaks volumes of your mindset and says nothing about me ..... as I said earlier get over it and get on with it ...I did

at leest have the nuts mr staggers to admit to something when you get caught out. to say you was not attacking me, when your comments came after frecklebirds who which was critising me, are a bit laughable my friend. the funny thing is you are usually the only one who beleeves there comments are not offending peeple.
sorry your comments usually say everything about you. if only you would " get over it and get on with it ", i for one would be much happier.
Again I'll ask if you're aware that people can should they choose read the entire thread ... and of course make their own decision about my motives and actions .... I'm more than happy to let them be the judge

Rowan Williams should remember that He speaks for a small minority of active church goers and no-one else

have YOU any idea of the numbers of a "small minority" actually is at all? or is it one of your many guesses dunno come on mr staggers throw some figures at us all, as to your interpretation of a "small minority" please.
i think the latest census would show a few million as church of england in there denomination. it matters not that not every one of them turn up for church every sunday morning

You do realise that people can scroll up the page and read my full post (with the qualifications to ,my statement) don't you ???
To my knowledge dyslexia does not render one incapable of seeing that a word is underlined in red.
A brief history....
Age 5/6 remedial reading ... me being slapped by the headmistress for being an "idiot child"
Age 9/10 me stood up in front of the class being berated by the teacher for my writing, spelling and persistent mistake of writing b instead of d and mirroring many other letters (most frequently s and 5)
Age 16 passed my 'o' level English
I don't hold myself superior to any one, I am not and will not play the victim, the trick you see is to learn what it is that you do wrong and correct it.

No joke Steve ... it will HAVE to happen eventually.. the supply of fossil fuel is after all finite
Rob,further to the unions holding us to ransom,What's the difference between that and the current situation where hauliers, unions and oil companies are all in a position to stop our fuel supplies ??

Are they in a position to stop our fuel supplies ? we have seen it happen on a short term basis but how long would haulage companies, Trade Unions responsible and oil companies last if they did not supply the oil, deliveries and manpower ? if we don't get fuel we don't pay for it, add to that the fact that electric and other forms of power for transportation are being developed and improved rapidly each day.
As I was saying ...no different to the scenario Rob was envisioning.

rowan williams may well act for a few million church of england believers, but then the catholic church speek for many more. also as the biggest rising religion in the world, the muslim faith also would not agree with gay marriages that does add up to a few billion peeple opposed to any form of gay marriage.

just a thought :notes:
No I'm not going to supply figures ... if you want them use your search engine of choice .... but remember of those who number themselves of any given faith ... how many give that faith because they were brought up in the faith even though they either don't practice or believe, how many disagree with their churches position on gay marriage, how many are gay and would like to be married,....figures for a professed religious belief are bollocks and do not represent the truth of religious practice, and religious practice is what counts...you are not a Catholic unless you attend confession and take communion, you are not a Muslim unless you do you're daily prayers and make the Haj,you are not Jewish unless you observe the Sabbath and attend synagogue, and most importantly of all .... you are not a Christian (of any denomination) unless you understand Christs message ...and that was one of love, acceptance and forgiveness .... Bloody Bishops call themselves Christian ,I'm more of a Christian than any of them and I don't even believe in God ... there's far too much emphasis put on the old testament if you ask me ... anybody got any quotes from Jesus where he condemns homosexuality ???

Blue given that 26 Bishops sit in the house of Lords they do have a say in this whether we like it or not .... I don't

Is that your down falling or there's?
It's a failure of our parliamentary system

I fully agree with our need to be rescued from the modern trend of grammar fascism .... however the constant repeated misspelling of certain certain words does sometimes begin to grate .... I give you our Ken and 'ammount' as the exemplar,it begins to look like stubborn bloody mindedness rather than a genuine mistake after a while

"dangerous"?? now there's an odd choice of word G .... I'd be fascinated to hear why "dangerous"

Quote by
dangerous
dan·ger·ous
? ?
adjective
1.
full of danger or risk; causing danger; perilous; risky; hazardous; unsafe.

The peril or risk to International Affairs.
This dear lady has no real experience of the subject matter and no accountability for the billions of Euro she spends in the name of the Commission.
Her inexperience exposes those who act in the name of the Commission and those who act for their own Government's Diplomatic Missions to unsafe risks and peril.
Dangerous is an appropriate adjective to describe her ineptitude.
I must have misinterpreted G ... that didn't appear to me to be your intent dunno

Bottom right when writing your post
Just a thought innocent

i often do but then why should people be forced to hide the fact they cannot spell or are dyslexic its a little like asking people to photoshop thier pic because they are too fat or to thin or to short or to tall dunno
I haven't suggested that anyone change or hide anything Rob,I have in the past defended those of us who are less capable with their spelling and/or grammar .... I would suggest however that,to play the wounded soldier when a simple solution is at your fingertips is tiresome to say the 's a thought .... get over it and get on with it.

This whole argument is of course a red herring .... the question should be ,why do we not have a national, integrated, subsidised public transport system that renders private vehicle ownership unnecessary

agreed but only if there is no Union's to hold it all to ransom
I don't think the unions are or have ever been in the kidnapping business Rob

a labour peer? almost as rotten as a lord prescott.
Prescott is just a buffoon. Ashcroft is more subtle and therefore more dangerous.

I think the world has gone made!

Not actually fined then ...headline should read ...Council investigates littering ticket after realising they've employed an idiot

On the surface looks like idiots at the wheel ... headline should read ... Council applies rules:are rules stupid

And finally Esther...
Don't you just love the accurate unbiased reporting in the super soaraway Sun ....the word you're looking for is Cunts
Looks to me as though the cleverreporting has forced a backpeddle... A job well done :thumbup:This is (when applied to the tabloids) an oxymoron .... have you tried the other explanation out for size ?? you know the one that goes ... council realises that enforcement of rule is stupid (in this case) and decides not to enforce it
