In the cottage I used to live in we were visited by an old lady. We used to hear her all the time going up and down the stairs, my son used to chat away to the empty air and we saw the stairgates and cot sides go up and down by themselves (fairly freaky!). We used to see her walk across the top of the stairs and the kitchen window. It never felt scary though, more like having your favourite elderly relative to stay.
Cried when I moved because I missed her!
I do some camera work for a paranormal investigation team and we have had some truly strange stuff happen to us. Having said all that I'm still not sure I believe - still searching for that rational explanation I suppose.
2 of the mediums I work with specialise in clearances. If you fancy having us over to investigate your house, PM me...

Thanks hun, will definitely keep you on the 'back-burner'

Hmmm. confused
Like Stuart I am a non-believer - but an open minded one. My view is that don't have any incontrovertible evidence, but I will try and take a rational view of events. So, given that I am starting off from a sceptical viewpoint......
We too live in an old house which is spread over several floors.
For some reason our bedroom is markedly colder than the rest of the house - even when the radiator is on full blast.
Our neighbour (the two houses used to be one building)has reported some very strange events and, when I talk to local people, no-one is surprised. This includes one of the local pub landlords who is an ex-marine and a Falklands veteran who I wouldn't have thought is frightened of anything. Yet, when he found out where I lived, he said "Have you noticed anything strange happening - and be honest now!"
So there is clearly a perception of something unusual. I have got up in the night to investigate children's voices/laughter/cries only to find that all the children are fast asleep!
I don't experience any 'bad vibes' at all - just a feeling that some of the former residents are still with us. And I don't even believe in that stuff!
Will dunno

Must admit there are never any bad vibes except when there were 2 new spirits arrive - don't know if they were invited by my son or his friends, but got rid of them with the help of the house spirits.
Yes, I know what you mean about hearing laughter, cries, voices etc. I hear these sometimes too.

some people are naturally open to these type of experiences
my mam has seen a man walk through the house and my sister saw a little boy constantly, while living at my parents i never saw a thing, but the back attic bedroom i would never sleep in, something just didnt feel right and i couldnt go in there
ok this is where everyone thinks i am a nutter
i dont have too much problem in my house, or i didnt until one of my dogs passed, i always slept on the bed and had to lay his head on me. for afew months after i had him put to sleep through cancer, i had an oppressive weight on me when i was asleep, i couldnt move although i was awake and i hated it, i did a little spell to move his spirit on and havent had a problem since, but i do cast a protective spell round my bed.
so when i eventually come to stay i have to sleep between the two of you

Huns we've never thought of you as a nutter.
And you are very welcome to sleep or something between us any time ;)

I've often watched paranormal things on the TV.. there's nearly always an explanation for everything, mostly magnetic theories.
Tania, here's a site that may be of interest to you.. I hope you find some answers or solutions somewhere along the line. lol

Thanks, just had a quick look and it is a website that I'll have to have a good look at tomorrow. And at a bit earlier time

But how else are you going to get out of Bedfordshire occasionally?

My apologies if this topic has already been covered.
But a recent post by Jaymar set me thinking.
I don't think I've seen a serious thread on this topic.
And this is a serious post. The following views and findings are mine (Tanina) and not Stuart's as he's a complete non-believer lol
We live in a very old house. This house still has some of it's old inhabitants living here. There is at least one on each floor and we have four floors, cellar, ground floor, upstairs and attic. Although the spirits are not evil they can be rather annoying sometimes and making me very jumpy at others.
Starting in the cellar - there is a man down there who is rather partial to ladies bottoms. Everytime I go there to use the tumble drier he pinches my bum  Stuart always laughs at me when I make my way rather quickly to the kitchen from the cellar evil As you can imagine, I don't go down there very often.
On the ground floor, we have a lady who walks along the corridor and then out through what used to be the original doorway for her but is now only a wall  She only every does that so it's not frightening to see her.
Also on the ground floor is a man who stands by the telephone at the other end of this same corridor  He only stands there so he's not intimidating.
Upstairs, in one of the bedrooms there is the occasional moving of the bed in the night - this is very frightening. Sometimes there is bouncing of the bed while Stuart is asleep and I'm desperately not trying to open my eyes and be frightened even more.
In another bedroom there was something really evil. This had been brought in from outside. I requested the household spirits to help get rid, this they did and I'm grateful to them.
The last one is in the attic. A work colleague visited our house for the first time recently and said that while she was standing by the big picture window she felt she was intruding in somebody's personal space. Also in the attic - it cannot be called a loft because it is the length and breadth of the house and big enough to make two rooms, it also has a proper staircase - things get moved about and sometimes you can actually hear walking up there. No-one can get in there without the key, we keep the attic door securely locked.
But, apart from all this the house is lovely to live in. They don't cause me any problems and I let them carry on living here.
Does anybody else have such experiences?
Or is it me? confused

At home we wear nothing, and spend the whole night snuggled up smile
But, depending on the place or situation, Tanina would wear something a little risqué lol
As has been mentioned a couple of times, plenty of water before going to sleep is a good cure.
Alcohol dehydrates you, and it is the dehydration that causes the headache.
Therefore, plenty of water should prevent this.
The paracetemol could help as well - we've always managed without lol

I've been toying with the idea of a private small 'gathering' of swinging friends recently...but dont get excited cos the venue is just toooo close to home for me to do it rolleyes BUT.... the venue possibilities have raised some interesting questions in my head

That's a very good question, DF
If you're toying with the idea of a venue, would 20 be too small a number?
Perhaps that number of people sounds like a house party - OK it depends on the size of the house lol
Quote by celestria
If we're talking a smallish gathering then I'd do it by personal invite, either people we already know or people we'd like to get to know better. Definitely a houseparty/BBQ, I just wish I had a bigger yard or even a garden

We, too, would go with the personal invites, as above.
We couldn't do a barbeque - just no room at all for that.
But we could probably squeeze 20 in to our house

.....but Id set up my karaoke :karaoke: and give all a good go at anything they've always wanted to sing. With fancy dress, if poss - I love dressing up.

Ooooooh karaoke biggrin :karaoke: Now, unaccustomed as we are to karaoke, we'd give it a go
But, seriously, if everyone is aware that the party is just for socialising, drinking, eating, then if any playing does happen then that is a bonus.
It should never be expected that playing will happen.
Having a laugh, and a good company, always makes for a great evening

Our marriage has made us stronger, I feel proud to say "my husband", that's just me tho. lol

That's us as well - we too are proud to say "my huband" or "my wife".
And always enjoy being out with each other.
But, perhaps we're still getting used to it we've only been maried 26 years

We agree totally with the increased penalties regarding mobile phones. The previous £30 fixed penalty was far too lenient.
Let's hope that the police do stop everyone that they see using their phone whilst driving!

We were in our usual club last week when I noticed our next door neighbours sat in the jacuzzi.
We panicked, ran up the stairs, got changed and got out of the club without them seeing us.
We presume it was there First time since we are regulars at this club and never seen them before.
What should we have done? -we are both professionals
and dont want it known that we are secrete swingers.
Dont want to stop going to our Club though !!!!!!!

Why panic??
They are there for exactly the same reasons as you so just enjoy yourselves.
You never know, they might just invite you to their next party ;)
