Once convinced Marie that "Walking with Dinosaurs" (a jurassic park type documentary) was a real place with real dinosaurs roaming around. After her initial concerns about safety she suggested booking a holiday there.

Why do we tip though.....i know longer tip the barber anymore as it is £10 for a hair cut now and i never tip taxi drivers as they are expensive should start paying better wages to staff so they should not be relying on tips!......

Personally I also hate text or lazy speak. But that is me. Many people use it so frequently in their daily lives that it becomes second nature online too.
Some people are dyslexic, some are not well educated.
(I would like to stress that Tigermoth is very articulate and perfect grammer in msn - but just not very computer literate as yet).
I just accept everyone is different and maybe try to see the meaning of the posts rather than the method of delivery.
As for piss-taking - I'm with Northwest-cpl on this - once you know someone a little then piss-taking can be humorous. But for new people - often nervous and a bit over eager and clumsy with posts - the piss-take can seem outwardly and unneccessarily nasty.
could be construed as verbally bullying of newbs
I also think we actually need more light hearted banter in here - but not at the expense of other peoples feelings when we don't know them.
Agreed whole heartedly
Some newbies can cope - but some can be intimidated - which is a real shame.
I am so glad you didn't see this as me getting at you - as nothing was farther from the truth - I was just putting myself in the newbie situation.
hugs, Alex x
