Both Mrs t and I are Leo's
Quote: For most people, this is which zodiac sign which is the best lover. They constantly burn with a fiery passion and are sexually confident and powerful. They take charge in bed and explore sexual pleasures with dramatic, large-scale flair.
They constantly shower their lovers with gifts and attention. Seducing a Leo is fairly simple; they need continuous personal attention. To get on their soft side, try playing with their luxurious hair.
However I don't agree with all that star sign mumbo jumbo, so I'll have to play with my own luxurious hair :silly:
Suprisingly I think the opposite and have voiced that on this very forum.
Or, in other speak. You jumped the gun and spouted off about stuff that you no nothing about?
The DEC is an umbrella organisation that consists of 13 leading UK charities. It coordinates the raising of funds for those charities and their response to international disasters. Furthermore it is able to use its influence in regard to advertising for fundraising to greater effect than each of the organisations paying for advertising time seperately. Once it has raised the money it helps to fund the member charities doing their work towards the crises. The DEC does not however physically send people to do the work.
So if StC raise additional funds over and above their 1/13th share of the DEC's funds then good for them.
One thing that seems to have slipped your notice however is that the DEC only launched its appeal on 30 October. Before that every charity was responsible for raising it's own funds. Surely it's not unreasonable to assume that whatever advertising you saw on 30 Oct would have been planned before that date? and therefore before DEC took over the fund raising initiative?
Sorry, I must be being thick. But StC is part of the disasters emergency commitee and they are supporting the effort against ebola. So what's the problem with them raising money?
The line is drawn by each individual in turn. What is acceptable for one person may not be for the next. Ultimately only you can decide where you draw the line, and if someone has overstepped it then report it without hesitation.
Thinly veiled insults or open comments to a third party are unfortunately all too familiar in the chatroom. In other circles it would be called cyber bullying, and you wouldn't stand for someone doing that to your kids, so report it.
I can join you in your abstinence. As it happens I haven't touched alchohol since Jun 12th!
Of course it's democratic. Just because they are of Scottish descet it doesn't mean they get to vote in Scotland. What a crazy idea! That logic would allow most Americans to vote in several different countries as they all descend from somewhere and usually more than one country.
Well it's decision time in Scotland. Within the next 24 hours they will decide an historic referendum and posibly change the face of Britain forever.
I've got pals on both sides of the fence from our days living in the Highlands and it really does seem like it will be a close run thing. In twelve hours the polls close and the decision will have been democratically made and the long road to independence, possibly 7 or 8 years, will begin.
But if I had to bet an English pound on it this morning I would wager it will be a yes vote. There seems to much uncertainity over what will happen in the event of a no (although i would imagine it would be a case of business as normal?). Conversely the Yes vote have tapped into something primal, the hearts and desires of a proud nation. Whether those hearts rule the minds and make an unwise decision only time can tell, but once and for all they would have decided together, and must face the future consequences together.
Good luck Scotland, I hope to have you as a constituent of the UK come the morning, but if not I hope your independence is all you wish for.
There used to be a site near Elgin, but the council ripped out all the bushes etc to 'open up the area' and it was then completely visible from the road. AFter that the site wasn't used again. That was in 2010!
The dogging scene in that part of the country is very quiet anyway, so you probably won't find anyone by chance. You'll need to arrange things in advance I'm afraid.
I have thought all along that the yes vote would win in all the polls but at the last minute people would switch to a no vote.
However after watching the televised debate I am inclined to believe it will be a yes vote followed by 5-7 years of legal and constitutional wrangling.
As for some of the other questions raised, well here is my twopence worth:
NATO. Scotland would have to apply to join, and until it did so (and met the criteria to join the alliance) NATO would not be obligated to protect it. However the UK would as Scotland would still be Sovereign soil, The current bases would probably be declared soveriegn base areas enabling the UK to deploy its forces in a 'foreign' country. In the unlikely event that someone were to threaten or invade Scotland the Uk would be obligated to support her, and an attack on the UK would activate the central tenement of the NATO alliance.
Submarines: The UK can base her subs in Devonport. It isnt the subs that are the problem, it the weapons.
Armed forces: Scottish servicemen would not be forced out of the UK forces. they ave all sworn an oath of allegiance to the Crown and the Crown would still be the constitutional monarch of the new indipendent Scotland. It is most likly they would be ofered a chance to transfer if they had the right skill sets and personal qualities/attributes for vacant slots. Most probably wouldn't transfer in my opinion.
Currency: Scotland will still use the £. Why wouldn't they? Personally I think a currency union would be a pointless thing. How can you have an independent country where your interest rate is set by someone else.
Oh, and for the record the Swiss have deployed members of their armed forces to Afghanistan and other UN missions in non conflict roles. They currently have troops in Ghana, Kosovo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Middle East and Korea carrying out peace support missions.
If someone contacts us online using text speak we don't meet them. Simple.
The logical thing to do is find someone within our community that you trust and contact them before, during and after a meet. I would suggest that you agree a codeword to say your safe, not a straight forward open text message as anyone would be able to send that if they could use your phone.
Something as plain, boring and simple as 'Ive just put the bins out' could mean your home safe, and only you would know to send that.
Well that's 70 years for you. Mrs T and I had a brief moment at 22:56 and 00:15. for those that don't know 22:56 5 Jun 44 was the moment the first six Handley Page bombers took off from RAF Tarrant Rushton towing the gliders of Operation Tonga, more commonly known as the assault on Pegasus bridge. They landed at 00:15 and the day of days began.
I have just returned from the former RAF Upottery airfield in Devon. Very few people will know it by name. It was the airfield that the, 70 years ago tonight, flew 45 Dakota aircraft into Normandy for Operation ALBANY. On board those 45 aircraft were the 1st Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne. A further 36 Dakota's carried the 2nd Battalion.
Although they were not the first coup-de-main forces to land in the airborne element of Operation OVERLORD they are arguably the most famous. Many of you will remember the TV miniseries 'Band of Brothers' Based on Easy company 1/506.
There was a moving ceremony at the airfield today. There are several features of the original site still in existence to add poignancy, not least the former control tower, the heart of any airfield.
Most touching off all was meeting two former paratroops from Able Company 1/506 and Dog company 2/506. They returned to the airfield today for the first time in 70 years.
One couldn't help but think how different the world is now due to the efforts of these frail old men and their generation. They at least survived to see what they achieved. But for many more 'They gave their tomorrow for our today'.
Lest we forget.
F) Wait until he has gone.
Some good advice already, and you'd be a fool to dismiss it.
We type 'fine thanks, how are you?'
This means that the ball is in there court. They must reply with something that answers the question and moves the conversation on, hopefully somewhere more interesting or they get ignored.
Either that or just ignore them from the word go ;)
Loss of sight in both eyes would mean the end of me. Everything else I think I could cope with.
It's Jed.
Face the fact that his post's don't always make sense.
