At work my manager insisted that at least one person had to stay logged into the phones today at 11am. We objected, she insisted and got her way. This meant that not only did some people have NO choice in whether to participate in the 2 minutes silence, but it meant that as they answered phone calls all through, the rooms were not silent at all. When we were supposed to be thinking about people who had died in the wars (and many of us had relatives who did) all we could hear were these people answering the calls. I think my manager deserves the Dickhead of the year award!
Sorry to hear that Bex.... our office was the exact opposite.... i made my staff log out of there phones at .. 1 person had the audacity to complain to one of my staff that they were kept waiting for 10 minutes, to which customer got a very short end of a bollocking from me....

What we couldn't understand was it was only a few minutes! I mean no one who was calling was in a life or death situation, they could so easily have called back.....the more I think about it the more annoyed I feel. She showed she had no heart and has also alienated the majority of her staff in the process.....well done that woman!

It surprises me that some dog owners think it's ok to let their dog shit on the pavement so that on a dark Novemeber night (in the blinding wind and rain) some innocent (that's me believe it or not!) walks into it and then walks onto their carpet at home!
Now I could imagine the uproar if one of my kids was allowed to shit on the pavement

After the debate, hubby said we had better do something about making this happen. So answered a few ads and have chatted on ICQ late last night to a couple of young men. Both are interested but one seems to be more interesting somehow . Then hubby really made my nerves kick in, he mentioned that being 22 this chap is nine years younger than our youngest son! Panic!
I have had some really great times with some younger men and I think that one of the key points is not to focus on their age. In the past I had done all the ‘he’s the same age as my daughter’ worrying etc which had even prevented me from meeting some potentially interesting people. But in essence age is not the most important aspect. There should also be mutual attraction and when it comes to actually meeting them you need to focus instead on who they are and what you both want from each other. When you are together it shouldn’t only be that you are with them because of their age.
Obviously the first time there will be a novelty element with it (and nerves no doubt from what you have said!) but don’t panic they will probably be as nervous as you are. Though, I always get butterflies when meeting someone new whatever their age…..when that stops happening I think it might be time to stop!

I have never been let down on the actual day, but have had a few drop outs before hand (like this weekend!) but there have always been good reasons and notice. I have always done the same in return, give notice if possible and let people know the score. It's just a matter of repect and politeness (even swingers should have manners )

im a rios regular and was there a couple of days after the last london munch (which i was not on) and which i read on the board 'popped' in to rios ... i was sitting round theback getting high and a couple of the regulars were telling me stories about the london munchers (not knowing they were a group). i smiled in recognition :-)
(what you need to understand is that rios is not used tothat sort of thing. its a wonderful but odd place with its own unique atmosphere)
