I am another who can say for certain that nerves plays a huge part in this, especially for first timers. In my very limited experience the only advice I can give is to be as honest as possible about what you're looking for and to keep trying. We all know that the net is completely awash with timewasters but there are alot of us who are genuine as well.

There seem to be alot of genuine people on here. Although personally, I completely understand where jags is coming from. I am new to this and have to admit to being nervous to say the least but still very genuine.
