Well, without knowing exactly what her medical situation is and was, we are relying in what is reported in the popular press.
I've heard of several instances where people have been in denial over serious illnesses like this.
Whether she is right or wrong in her actions, my view is that its simple human decency to have sympathy for anyone going through this.

I'm going for Scotland to win the Calcutta Cup again this year - watched it last year in a bar in Paris - me and several hundred Frenchmen cheering on Scotland and Harry the only Englishman despondent in the corner!
I really like the Italians, too, not just fot the contents of their underpants. I think they are really plucky agressive players despite generally being the underdogs.

I'm obsessed about volume levels, if a radio or tv, iPod or phone have a numeric read-out, I must must must leave it on an even number.
Even if the display disappears after adjustment, it would make me very uncomfortable to know it was left on, say, 11, instead of 12.

I feel very guilty as my first reaction when the story broke that she'd been given the news of her illness on the Indian BB show was that it might be a stunt.
Irrespective of the public persona and whether you like or dislike her, my reaction now is the same as it would be for anyone who finds themselves with this horrible illness ..deep sympathy and praying for her and her family that they get through it.

I'm a terrible fence sitter on these serious issues as I'm really crap at putting across an argument. However I too am not 100%convinced on the global warming argument.
That being said, even if there is a genuine case, I just feel an overwhelming sense of futility about it all. I just feel that all the efforts to recycle, reduce carbon footprint etc is such a tiny gesture in the grand scheme of things.
I think the US is coming around belatedly, but China is still building coal-fired power stations like there is no tomorrow, India too...and who are we to deny them their own industrial revolution?

I so admire that ability. I like to think I can compose a good picture but the talent seems to escape me with interior design. Last time we re-did our living room, I was aiming for cool pale green and slightly tropical feel..kind of Raffles, Singapore style...the end result was more like a public lav!

The reason I ask is that what little artistic abilities I had when I was younger seem to have fizzled out over theyears.
I sang at school and could read music and though it was only the recorder, I played in the school band - we even entered a few competitions so can't have been too dire!
In my teens and twenties I was the Dancing Queen but somehow my ability to dance just slipped away.
I was never much of a painter or good at drawing but was quite into crafts. Now my only artistic leanings are in photography.
I like the thought of creative writing but somehow never got round to it - maybe I should start a clever blog.
