I threw Mrs Lava her first ever birthday party when she was 22!! She'd never had one as a child and I loved the ones I had so much I just had to do it. I enlisted the help of her little sister as design consultant (she was 6 at the time 
) and it was a blast.
We had proper kids party food right down to the Wotsits and Flumps, sarnies, crisps, cherryade and slightly minging Birthday Cake (Pink Pig shape). We had balloons up, banners, party bags and played musical statues and pass the parcel.
We still have a laugh about it now. I like the fact that these things don't have to cost the earth, it just has to be something that you've really thought about.

Just to let you know in case any Hamster fans don't know, a justgiving page was created by some fans of the man to raise the money it cost to transfer him to hospital in the air ambulance. They started off wanting a few hundred pounds but so far over £150,000 has been raised in a few days. It now looks like they will get enough to buy a second helicopter for the air ambulane service which they intend naming after the Hamster!
