Wow, I very nearly offered to help you get this off the ground there Tom, I used to organise a lot of Manchester socials a while back before I retired my swinging boots to the cupboard and listened from the sidelines! smile

White bread...
OK, maybe not very secret that I love bread, but since I started my healthy eating thing in the back end of last year, I've actively steered away from it. Especially the non wholemeal varieties.
Until today's breakfast has been presented to me as bacon with brown sauce on white barmcakes, and lovely pair they were too. Didn't even touch the sides. :lickface:

Ahhh, Utopia! That club was amazing, but there was no way it was going to stay open long. The prices were nuts and the location slightly inconvenient, but the facilities were beautiful.
Does anyone else remember Warwick and his marbles? How he went away on holiday for a couple of weeks and then came back to find us all with his avatar? lol

....I shall think of the fantastic nights out at the Wigan munches, the North West munches, Marms wearing nothing but his curtain and G-String and yeah, that was a brilliant smoking area at Kit's birthday social with it's log fires and cheesy dance music with free earplug dispensers on the walls. I used two of them recently that I'd saved from the ones that 'fell' into my handbag that night. :lol:

My top memories in no particular order:
The Ann Summers party for bi-females held by Steve G (and the stick he got afterwards was terrible really) but it was such a laugh and the first time I met people for real from here after being the chat rooms for months.
The NW munch that followed that and joining the forums. Turning up to be handed a sticky postage label and a marker pen Remembering JudyTV and Blue giving Sarge a pretty pink thong to wear over his trousers, which he did and then posed for photos.
Treasuring a picture from there for years because I thought it had Nellie in the foreground which actually turned out to be his semi doppelgänger (Chris of 'Molly&Chris')
Watching Neil being used as a maypole and then later on terrified as he ran out of a room of girlies all propositioning him at once, with his face bright red as a beetroot and clutching his towel like a shield.
Missy and the one breast out of the towel conversation in Adam & Eves after the NW munch and then meeting my Nellie for the first time face to face and falling head over heels.
Jas putting a pumpkin on my corseted chest shelf for a halloween munch and then Tim being dared to ask me if I actually had nippples because Reece, Dino and Rodger all had bets on where they were, if they did exist!
Crash bandicoot moment where I had a car full and was trying to follow the banned tranny to the Wigan munch in a much smaller and less powerful one litre VW polo. We ended up loosing them somehow while they bobbed and weaved in and out of traffic. We still managed to get there before them!
Being rescued after a high speed tyre blow out on the way back home to Leeds on the M62 with two brilliant people being our heroes and Neil not even batting an eyelid while I had a mini-meltdown on the hard shoulder.
Going to MakingCocoa's birthday bash at a formula 1 motel in the midlands, someone snogging a tramp who'd just been eating food out of a bin, then the kebab shot, the party room being locked by the motel manager even though we'd filled the place, plaiting someone's pubes and them taking so long in the self cleaning loos they got washed, "you're so interesting" :lol: , getting so drunk I wore a Manchester United shirt and skipped down the corridor!
Blue's parties 1, 2 & 3. Our favourite one by far was the first one and I'll never forget Nellie in those red boots in his school fancy dress outfit in the front room, vodka jelly, the game's master, meeting up at Judy's beforehand and feeling nervous but holding hands with Neil all the way there and then cuddled up all the way home.
Elbow! :lol:
The avatar challenge, the beanbags thread, Heather's how to give a cat a pill, goldfish related banter, the GFZ, having one chatroom and the cafe, chatting all hours of the day and night, sending endless flirty messages back and forth.
Notts munch being brilliant; Neil was late and CelticQ came to escort me to a pre-munch gathering and then later on not recognising her because she'd straightened her hair! Nell finally turning up after an epic journey holding the most beautiful bunch of oriental white lilies, then the pair of us being late for breakfast the next day with me carrying the flowers to lots of knowing smiles, raised eyebrows, winks and smirks where the only two seats left were at the head and foot of an extremely long table where we kept catching each others eye and blushing. Then driving people crazy nuts on the lift home from talking about him most of the way. I framed one of the flowers and gave it to him as a gift.
The NWBest nights out and all the hilarity, dancing around and laughs; Clubbing then going home for a cup of tea and a natter in our jimjams, Sexcetera and cups of tea with gossip, Manchester pride, fancy dress...
Gosh, I could just add to this all night. I need to stop, it's making me teary. :love:

Tea? Is the cup I've kindly been made going to be ungraciously sacrificed to the sink because I've nursed it far too long and now is of an undrinkable nature it could be sold as an iced variety after being sat in front of the fan? Definitely not hot...
Breasticles? After being cooped up in their over the shoulder boulder holder all day and recently been unleashed to the mercy and sacrifice of the sock monsters, I think they are possibly a little tepid, and maybe a bit icky from the shock tbh... (TMI? Oh well, ask a silly question... ;) lol

Is the air temperature outside hot in the unusually sunny North of England? Yeah, I suppose it is for here as you don't normally get melt your ice cream before you've even thought of buying one kind of weather.
In comparison to somewhere that is actually warm most of the time, say Dubai for example, nope, this is winter temperatures and a potter in the park, a stroll in a stream, a lunge in a lido, (OK, I've run out of puns for now... thank goodness probably eh. ;) ).....

It's with great regret that I'm letting you know that Neilinleeds has sadly passed away. :angel: :upset:
Didn't think I'd be back in here under these circumstances, however things happen which we'd never expect or wish for. sad

We have both spent a lot of time here; meeting through SH and the cafe forum shenanigans. smile

It played a massive part in our early lives together with us flirting around the forums and the mIRC chatrooms before we had even set eyes on each other. We joked about it in years come as I had a really rubbish username at the time (ok, not much better now, some would say! :P ) and he remembered it that night in Adam & Eve's after the North West Munch. We used to use our favourite emoticons in cards to each other, emails and notes with only us and fellow forumites knowing, like our own little secret code. redface

My heart swells with joy, and now the deepest sadness, to think of those happy times. I'm devastated. My life will never be the same and I can't tell you the hurt I'm feeling but it seems wrong to post in here without a streak of that beloved humour I will miss. I can hear him laughing like a drain at me editing this over and over! surprised

Even when I stopped coming on here, I still heard all about the shenanigans with who said what to whom and the latest row or troll! Never one to back away from a good debate he would relish in finding out new information to strengthen his stand point and I just wish he'd channelled this into something useful like becoming a lawyer! ;) :P
It was love at first sight and knew that we wanted to be together, leading to 8 brilliant years of living together and nearly ten years of him being in my life. We've been through the best of times and the worst of times together and I will miss him more than I could ever say. We loved each other deeply and found some of our best and closest friends through here, which I am proud to say are like family to us years later. He loved the community aspect and this is one of the reasons he championed it so vehemently; you gave him so much and by extension, me too. No matter what you thought of his political stand points and wordy replies, I admired him immensely, I was lucky to have him as my partner, fiancé and best friend for so long. :inlove:
He was my world, I adored him, how much he made me laugh and how happy he made me. Even though He has gone to the great Pastafarian in the sky for ten pretty ironing goldfish, a bag of marbles, a dusty mask and some hot tub cleaning fluid that was passed off as GFZ rose wine, ;) I will always love and cherish the brilliant memories. Thanks to the members of SH for this.
