I can only really comment on Cupids, as that's the only one I've been to in the NW over the past 10 years or so. I tried a few before that - Connections, Xanadu, Boardroom, but started at Cupids in the late 90s and been going ever since. (Obviously I was in primary school when I started going!!)
It's fair to say it had quietened down a bit but recently it's started to improve. I think the owner has got more involved, some of the old faces have moved on and some money is being spent to do it up. Fingers crossed! Improvements so far are encouraging!
They open afternoons, and now stay open right into the evening, instead of closing and then re-opening. Much better idea, as you don't have a dead period from about to -ish.
Numbers are variable, as ever, but it's quality not quantity!

The only other place I go regularly is Chams in the W Midlands. Been there?

I'm a 40's professional guy, and find myself in a smart Westminster hotel with a free evening. Don't really fancy the footie, and not really sure about trekking up to Rios later either.

Hope you have lots of fun, whoever you choose to play with!
Check out the "Clubs" section of th site (listed on the menu bar on the left!)
You'll find a few in the W Midlands, but the one i can recommend is Chameleons.... a really friendly place - no hassle, and you can chat, look around, and decide if you want to play or not. You won't feel pressured in there - and there are always a good number of couples, so you won't be gazed at by 20 guys all night because you're the only couple in!
Have fun, wherever you go, and whatever you get up to.. ;-)

I'm certainly interested in the idea of a midweek social evening, but (as was already pointed out) suggesting a same-day meet at quarter to midnight makes it a bit of a challenge!!
Assuming this was a slip of the brain, let us know the date you did have in mind and hopefully I'll be free to meet a few new SH-mates!

I'd recommend Cupids if you didn't go there already? It has a good atmosphere and plenty of people usually. I have been with first-timers before and it can be a good idea to get there early and have a good look round before the place fills up.
If you want to know more - let me know. Happy to meet you for a drink and outline the "lie of the land". But of course you may have already seen for yourselves by the time you read this?
