 Why not wriggle out of the question, and say that the single biggest change in the modern world in the last 20 years is the convergence of the technologies of communications and computing, giving rise to the twin benefits of mobile phones and computing! cool
*Kat wanders off feeling very pleased with himself at being able to have his cake and eat it again.*

Kat

I retract my previous statement and I'll go along with Kat's as it sounds so much better!
biggrin
Gosh, you lot will have me in tears if you carry on!
I remember the feelings well. Butterflies in the tummy, excitement at seeing them again, wanting to be with them a lot, wanting to speak to them a lot, not being able to sleep or eat.
The rest of the feelings can't be put into words.... they are just there.
biggrin
I always thought I could live without my mobile until a couple of months ago when I broke it and didn't have one for a few weeks - it was horrible! I hate not having people's numbers and not being in contact and I'm a complete gassbag and can spend hours on the phone so it really was quite hard not having the mobile.
Internet....hmmm, I love the internet. It's opened up so many opportunities and I can find anything I want at the click of a button. I still chat to people whom I've never met in real life - we've been chatting for about 5 years!
It's hard to choose between the two as they are both a big part of my life now - gosh that sounds really quite sad but I'm happy with that biggrin
Welcome!
Hope you find what you're looking for and have fun along the way!

Hi everyone,
My name's Simon and im 18 (this is 100% true), and I've just started a new uni course, where I only know 1 guy (well), and 1 girl (a really tiny bit). I'm a guy by the way.
The course is an art course, so needless to say, it's got tons and tons of really cute fit girls on it (dont want to sound like some chauvanist pig here) who are really 'my kinda girls' if you get me.
Basically, I've never had a girlfriend once, never even a girl who was a friend, and I'm sick and tired of it. Everyone else has got a boy/girlfriend, and I swear I'm the only person ever to have not had sex yet.
Anyway, you people on here seem like altogether nice genuine people, so I figure here would be a good place to ask about how to go about getting a girlfriend. I really need the absolute basics here! What can I do? All I want is just one girl to like me (a lot if you get what I mean)!
Please note! I am not some plug ugly gorilla-man, I've just only had friends who have been guys for the last 10 or so years.
So anyway...Thanks everyone!
Simon.

I think you need to join a dating site along with some others on here
Oooh miaow!
I think a dating site at this stage would be way too much for Simon. He said he hasn't had any friends who are girls so he needs to start at the beginning and ease his way in. A dating site isn't the place to make genuine friends or find someone to have sex with when you don't have experience of that kind of thing.
My advice is to not look for a girlfriend. Always look at female friends as having the potential to become a grilfriend. If you are desperately or actively looking, chances are you won't find what you're looking for.
Relax and enjoy making new friends, there isn't any rush smile
Just my humble opinion anyway!
Good luck Simon.
biggrin
I can't play this game anymore....I became way too addicted to it whilst I was supposed to be working!
biggrin
After saying at the weekend I definitely wouldn't be going to this one, in true woman style I have changed my mind and I'm coming..... woo-hoo!!!!!

Considering I'm from the South I'm very surprised I've only met about 4 people on this thread!

How do you know you've only met 4 people? Not everybody advertises their nicknames. They could be your next door neighbours for all you know!
I meant socially so yes, I would know who I have and haven't met as people wear name badges so it helps with the memory thing.
smile
No idea what I'll be having this year.... Not got a clue where I'll be either.
Normally we have Turkey with all the trimmings and it's bloody lovely!
Christmas Pudding is usually after...about 4 hours after as there's never any room left to eat any more!
biggrin
Considering I'm from the South I'm very surprised I've only met about 4 people on this thread! biggrin
I must be an honorary Northerner or something! lol
Well I'm not usually the type to say this on a forum as the people who have been fantastic know it already but I'm going to as I think it's a great idea... nice one Leps biggrin :
First on the list is Dambuster. We've been in contact since I joined the site and he's been a wonderful friend to me.
He's always been there to chat to and has given some damn good advice. He's also funny and intelligent and is there in times of need. It's always a pleasure seeing him or talking to him.
Thank you Uncle Dammy kiss
Next is Marmalaid. Top fella - Nothing is too much trouble, he has a heart of gold and has helped me in more ways than he could possibly know. One of the best friends I've ever had, he's always there with a laugh and a smile and has helped me through some of the most difficult times in my life to date.
Thank you for everything you've done
The munch organisers:
You people have made some very enjoyable nights possible.... every single munch I've been to has been brilliant. I've met some fantastic people through the munch's and I've become a lot more sociable! lol
Thank you to all of you.... They must be a bit of a headache to organise but I'm pleased they still happen!
I think that's enough soppyness from me....I'll be showing my feminine side next!

........do this.
Had the opportuntiy to watch a fantastic film last evening. Starred, Colin Farrell, Robin Wright Penn, Dallas Roberts and the fantastic Sissy Spacek. The film....................................'A Home at the End of the World'. Farrell and Roberts were absolute as confused young men growing up to be bigger and better men, the lovely Robin Wright Penn was simply stunning and Sissy Spacek made an 'Everest' out of a small, but hugely significant part.
Whilst the film was an emotionally rewarding experience of compassion and intrigue the highlight was the fantastic 70's soundtrack and the simplicity of the 'tale'. Even the most discerning and sceptical film lover can empathise with the characters and the predicament that they ultimately find themselves in. Go on treat yourselves........WATCH IT............you'll love it, I think.

I watched 'Transported 2' last month, it came out at the pictures this week. Don't bother, it's shit.
Chris
Actually it was Transporter 2....get it right! lol
And yes, it was shit!
Right, my memory still hasn’t returned fully but I’m carrying on regardless!

Knocking about in a flat with a bunch of veteran SH munchers (and Onlyme1981 rotflmao ) isn't a place you want to be if you fancy an early night especially with tattyxpx (Glaswegian and over excited at being "home") and marcuso (well, you can imagine!) there, and the bastards have cameras and take pictures of you in compromising positions with other people who just happen to have crashed out bedside you. Guess you'll all see the pictures soon enough so I'll shut up for now... :D

Cheeky fecker poke wait until I see you again. I might not be a veteran like you lot but I’m bloody dedicated!
Quote by postie
And sorry to Onlyme1981 for spending most of the weekend taking the piss out of you, really you ARE a snoggable alien. And one day you will be tall enough to go on the kids rides in Sauchiehall street :rotflmao:

Was that an apology? A real one? Nah didn’t think so…. You can’t stop taking the piss… you know what it means when you’re little and the nasty boys take the mickey and pull your hair don’t you?
But I know you’re only messing… was good to see you again and it was great trawling the shops looking for certain Scottish things in the freezing cold and rain…. I’d do it again anyday I’ll just remember to take a proper coat with me next time! :D
Dammy and HornyLittleBlonde – Nice to see you again. Thanks for the chat in the toilets HLB :)
Fabio – Nice to see you again :)
Fembernie and Bassman – you two look great together, nice to have met you!
Heaysyandck – Lovely couple. Bloody freezing though wasn’t it?!
Huxley&Susie – Nice to meet you both – Huxley, you have a great singing voice!
KitKat or Kit and Kat or erm…whatever – You explained your names to me but I don’t remember! Lol It is such a small world… I can’t believe that! Lovely to have met you both again…. Kit, I hope you dried off eventually and your foot isn’t too sore!
tattyxpx – You lovely person you… lol
I’m so glad I saw you again and thank you for being my personal dresser…I would have been lost without you! passionkiss
Ptolemy – Lovely to have met you. You’re bloody gorgeous you are!
Essexlady – A great person and really good fun. Thanks for letting me crash at the apartment.
RichardM – Nice to see you again. Even though you thought we were in Edinburgh countless times! Thanks for the crumpets and tea! :D
Sexyscotcarol and Scottishflinstone – Nice to have met you both. I think I got dragged away during our chat but it was good all the same.
Dundee Cpl– Thanks for the advice on the sussies Del! Nice to see you both again.
Targaid – Another lovely blokey! Bloody nice to have met had some good chats!
redwine_lover - It was fantastic to finally meet you, hope to see you again! Thanks for the easy chats and for taking the piss....I can take it!
Ladyfeebee - You are stunning and a lovely person with it. Glad to have met you.
I think that’s everyone done now! I hope I haven't missed anyone off, if I have, feel free to chastise me
I had such a blast at this one…. I must be mad to travel all that way for a munch but the people there were so great (and bloody gorgeous) I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again.
Again, a massive thanks to Lucy and was brilliant!
Edited to add blonde and steveg_nw - How could I forget you two? I think every munch I've been to you were there! Lovely to see you both again though.... blonde you sexy little snowflake! lol
Build and height are normally unimportant to me so if we're just talking about looks and instant attraction I'd have to say the eyes do it for me every time. When people smile and you can see the sparkle in their eyes I find very attractive.
smile
I like very short hair on guys as a rule.
I think long hair looks great on some men but others can't quite carry it off.....though saying that the men I've met off here with long hair I definitely wouldn't say no to!
I'm only 5'
Hate being so short but I can't go round wearing heels all the time so I'll just have to learn to live with being a short-arse!
Apparently I make a very good armrest or pint stand....as was demostrated at Glasgow by a few men who really wanted to make me feel good about my height rolleyes lol
I am never ever wearing stockings again (unless tattyxpx is around  )
I've been told that hold ups stay up better if you put water on them.... this information came from 4 people at the Glasgow munch so I think I'll try that in future!
I don't like tights.... they make me feel like I'm Nora Batty and very very unsexy but sometimes they are more practical.
I'm a very happy lady today...very tired but very happy!
Had an absolutely fantastic weekend and I'm hoping the high will last through the week! biggrin

One for the ladies (and the 'curious' amongst you) wink

Ooohhh Myyyyy!!
>>> dont mind me, I've just passed out in the corner over here
those thighs!!  suddenly got very warm in here! biggrin
Thighs? I didn't even notice the thighs! lol
I constantly have the song "Would you like to swing on a star" in my head....Thanks to a certain person posting it on the forum and to someone else for putting it on my phone biggrin .... love the song, brings back great memories but it gets a little annoying after I've heard it in my head for the 50th time!
I saw snow on Sunday while sat on the train somewhere between Glasgow and London ( rolleyes ).... I think we were still in Scotland at the time but can't remember as my memory has failed me....again! biggrin
I'd like to be one of the single males from here (not naming names!) - to see what goes through their mind and experience everything that comes with the "single male" status!
Only for a day though, I think that would be enough time to learn a thing or two and how to handle a situation knowing the full details.
Just want to say a quick Thank You to Lucy and Ken for a fantastic night!
And also to Ice Pie as without him I wouldn't have made it and had such a fab time!
I'll do a proper "name dropping" thank you tomorrow but seeing as though I've travelled for hours and hours and hours I think I'm going to go to bed.
Hopefully my memory will return in the morning!
....Has my ad/profile gone?
It was there last night and has now disappeared!
I've logged in and it's definitely gone..... Anyone know why or where it's gone?
Thanks!
biggrin

Does anyone find it difficult to sleep when youve shared a bed and then go back to sleeping alone?

Definitely.... I find it much easier to fall asleep when there's someone next to me.
Weird that!

Have you seen that fabulous advert for Sony, with all the brightly coloured balls bouncing down the street?????
There's been some amazing adverts, but I'm absolutely mesmerised every time this one comes on, it makes me smile from ear to ear. I'd LOVE to be there when they did that, the kid in me comes right to the surface.
Now try really hard to stay off the subject of sex here folks :giggle: tell me what makes you smile like that..... a heart lifting moment that almost makes you cry coz it's so beautiful

Sorry to pop your bubble of watching it happen, but about 99% of it is CGI. The SF streets were filmed with a motion tracked camera using several balls as scale/travel markers, the rest was all done in post and composited in later. Still, you would at least get to go to 'Frisco, but trust me, watching the filming would be very boring
I didn't think they were real TBH.... but that doesn't matter to me, I still love the colour and "softness" of the advert. biggrin
Quote by marmalaid
Hmmm, now where have I heard that before?
lol

Do you disagree?
:P
Ok, I admit it, now I've seen them both... Little Britain is a bit of a rip off of League of Gentlemen.... but I still like some of the characters in Little Britain smile
You're right as usual

I hate not being able to sleep! evil
I'm tired and I need to go to sleep but I can't. I'm just lying there staring into the darkness, thinking about random things, memories from the weekend passing through and all I would dearly love to do is drift off to sleep.
 Frustrating. banghead

I know the feeling. I'm physically knackered but my brain won't switch off!
I doubt I'll even go to bed....not much point now tbh!
I get this every few months where no matter how tired I am I just can't sleep....it's not good!
You must have got too much sleep at the weekend, probably. Did you get up late biggrin
lol No comment :D

you could always go count all the bolts in the spinaker tower to make you sleep

 I'll try that next time.... though I think the Spinnaker tower looks quite impressive so rather than send me to sleep it'd probably keep me awake!

...just wondering if anyone else here like this.......i know not related to swinging but i'm going tosee the live show tuesday and was curious to whom lIked LOG.......
local swinging for local people.........

Its a good quality comedy show, i especially liked the the bit in the last show on thurs were the old women in the supermarket was incontinent and didnt seem to know anything about it lol
i think you are confusing this with "little britain" ?
Easily done though, I've only seen LB a few times, but I'm always left thinking that so many ideas have been taken from tLoG. Only gay in the village, "I'm a lady!", Fat Club is so obviously Pauline and re-start.
Hmmm, now where have I heard that before?
