You will get time wasters in all walks of life.
As Mal says, there may be a good reason for someone letting you down although it doesn't excuse the bad manners of not letting you know.
It would appear that there are lots of time wasters as there are pic collectors therefore it is something you have to accept, not nice but you will never stop it. Just grin and bear it as there are genuine people out there and they are worth the wait.

We have in the past posted what we did when this happened to us.
We let the guy follow us as if we were not aware that he was.
We let him follow us for about 30 miles, we pulled up out side a house that wasn't our's and when he passed we drove off fast in the other direction.
We would have loved to have seen his face when he turned round and came back only to find that we were no longer there.
He may think twice in the future before making an idiot of himself and also making a wasted 30 mile journey.
