Hi everyone,
We've been following this thread with some interest, so much so that we have decided to delurk. We think the idea of a Lincolnshire munch is a great idea and long overdue. For this reason we are hereby offering our services to coordinate said munch if that is the will of the people.
We'd propose it to be in Lincoln (we know of several suitable locations) as it is the county capital and has plenty of places to stay should people wish to travel and stop over.
We've seen that others have volunteered themselves at one point or another but nothing has been actioned as yet. As a genuine couple (verified on other sites etc) we'd hope that more couples would be encouraged to attend and not be worried that they would be the only ones there apart from the horde of single blokes (not that there's anything wrong with a horde of single blokes now and again )
Soooooo if the desire is there peeps we'll coordinate, organise, shed sweat n tears etc etc so that we can all have a :cheers:

If you are serious then organise your own social evening in Lincoln for a nigth when you are free, you dont need to call it a munch and I for one would be quite happy to come up to lincoln for a drink and to meet a few extra local people.
There seem to be quite a few locals and singles on this thread who might be interested, it would be a good way for the lincolnshire newbies to get to know people.

In my opinion the actual Munch calendar is pretty busy at the moment and there are a few within traveling distance of lincolnshire.
However a smaller social gathering in lincolnshire would be a good idea, a lot less organising for whoever put it together and it would give a few extra of the newer people a chance to meet up.

The point I would make here is that every day is "Hetero" day, if you go out into any town or city ordinary people are performing "Hetero" actions all the time without fear of abuse, condemnation or ridicule. Male/Female couples take their children out, Men and Women kiss and cuddle on park benches, young lads go flirt with girls who walk past etc. etc. etc.
Gay men and women who perform these same actions in public do not get the same response, they dont even get the same response on here on what is a liberated site. This was highlighted to me by the fact that it was considered potentially unwise or unacceptable for 2 men to have a snog at a munch in a discussion some time ago. If it is okay for a man and a woman to hold hands, have a kiss and flirt in public then it should be okay for a same sex couple to do the same thing.
So long as that is not the case then Pride events are in my opinion important.

My opinion on this is that until Gay, Bisexual and Straight people actually get equal treatment in society then Pride events are a positive thing.
As a bisexual man at the moment life is much easier if I am apparently Heterosexual due to very open prejudice in most walks of life. If I appear to be Heterosexual it is not assumed that I wish to have sex with every woman I meet but present attitudes mean that a lot of people assume that a gay/bisexual man will want to have sex with any man he meets.
Pride is in my opinion about challenging societies assumptions and prejudices not about getting better or special treatment.

But I have to say I usually find myself traveling about the country to meet people as it seems a bit thin on the ground round here.
Maybe a social to let everyone say hi would be fun, we did have a very good one in Peterborough earlier in the year - maybe Lincoln next time.
