All,
Just spotted the new 'filters' that have been added at the bottom of the "Members" listing in Chat
Whilst I can see that this will be very useful for some, especially in busy rooms, could it be tweaked a little please ?
1, If a 'filter' is set, e.g. single fems or single males, could the icon colour change from pink or blue to gray ?
(That way you'd know if you'd set one, either accidentally or deliberately and forgotten)
2) Could the 'sort' one be changed from a gray icon to A-Z or just S and coloured so as to stand out ?
3) Similarly for the distance one ?
Also, when are these going to be added to the Chat HELP box ?
(quite a few confused people at the moment)
Similarly, nothing in the Chat FAQ section, http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/main/help.html , either
Have to agree there needs to be a real change to the button to show which filters are active. A total "reset" button would be helpful too.
I just found this too .... took me a while to work out and the distance one didnt seem to work at all. It said that the nearest person to me was 147 miles away when in fact there were people in who were just up the road.
What about the search for a room function.........
Personally, I'd have preferred to see a 'search for a user IN a room function' so I can find people.......
(just a suggestion) lol
It may be just us but the distance filter doesn't seem to be working? No matter wether we select that option all we get when we 'hover' over a username is the name in a little popup box by the curare arrow...

I thought the distance funtion just put them in order of who was closest. Either way it didnt work!! dunno

Errrm that maybe the case lol.
But as you say it's still not working.
Also now seems that if we have any filters set and change rooms it doesn't show the new user list in the new room. We can see them chatting but not who's in the room!
How an earth are we supposed to 'research' profiles when this happens! wink
My guess would be that if people have chosen to hide their postcode then you will not be able to see how far away they are... That's how it works with profiles anyways. Plus if you have chosen not to provide your postcode then that would have the same affect. Dunno for definite but sounds very likely.
I can't figure out the distance filter either. It seems to sort the users in some manner, but distance doesn't appear to be a factor.
I have my settings set to allow distances to be calculated, but I still get the users sorted randomly.
When I tried there was a large block with no distances, then it comes to our own user namre, butthen for everyone below that if you keep hovering over each name for a few seconds you will eventually get a distance - which should be the closest person/people to you. keep working down and hovering an you should see the distances increasing.
Our postcode is on our profile to and even if some others have got it on theirs or the distance calculator enabled surely it should do something? lol
Regrettably there's a glitch with the distance calculations at the moment.
If a user has their preferences to prevent other members calculating a distance from their location (customised under Settings), naturally it won't show any distance information. What's happening at the moment is that all of the distances that can't be calculated are at the top of your list, followed by the nearest first records, which isn't clear at all so I can see where the confusion is coming from.
The order needs to be shifted so the nearest first is at the top of the list, followed the the rest of the users that can't be calculated, perhaps ordered alphabetically rather than randomly.
An update should follow later today to fix this.
Apologies for the confusion.
